  • Hey Pete, what model is tat kimber? Dig the 2 tone look

  • @thearmorychannel

You have come a long way bro. Congrats on your success.

  • The kimber is an officers frame with a commander slide. Normal officers guns have a 3.5" barrel, this barrel is 4.25".

  • Hey man, I wanted request your input on something.I have a High Standard (Armscor/Rock Island) 1911 GI.I chose it over the Springfield because it already had a flared ejection and stainless barrel (showing), the price was right ($430). NOW, I've decided I can't stand the GI sights.Researched and to send the slide to novak and have them machine, and install sights will be around $130. This won't be my only change.Question:Keep it and modify with parts, or sell and get the modern upgrade

  • Great video - very helpful recommendations. I'm glad someone else out there thinks Colts and Kimbers are overpriced.

  • Hey Pete. I am comtemplating the purchase of a new 1911 & I'd appreciate your feedback. Between the two. Either a Sig Sauer GSR 1911 .45 OR a Colt Series 80 rail gun Stainless. If you could purchase one or the other what would be your choice. Thank You Pete. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • Hi Pete.I would not even consider purchasing the Kimber as I learned with the tighter tolerances they have a tendency to break. On the SA GI Model - If you shoot this model regularly will you become proficient with using the low profile sights?? Or would it just be better to start out with a Colt Model considering the sights & flared ejection port? THX. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • accuracy wise its the shooter not the gun

  • good explanation, and you hit it on the nail. no gun is more accurate than the other. and prices is directly proportional to features. i did buy a kimber and tossed my mag and bought 2 WC-ETM mags. and since i bought it i haven't regretted my decision once. to me if your a true enthusiast you got to love them all for what they are. you can favor one over another but with out diversity it would be boring..

  • Pete, you are 100% correct about kimber.

  • Good job, thanks for the information.

  • whats the advantages of a "skeleton" trigger and hammer

  • @evo8FQ400 for looks and the skeleton hammer is much lighter and causes less restriction to the slide when cycling and moving back and forth

    Hope that helped :)

  • hey pete

your right, a lot of money goes into paying for the name. nice rundown of the model sizes.

  • That Kimber looks like a pimp's gun - LOL.......way too flashy for me.......I'll take COLT any day!

  • 4:40 "Springfield's the SHIT!" Then Pete gets carries away, "Springfield ROCKS...!" "Everything they make..." Then Pete starts to think. "I gotta stop saying rocks I sound like that fucking moron..." LOL "You know who I'm talking about..." Yeah you mean the guy who compares every handgun known to man, to the glock? Yeah we know that guy -_-

  • @aaronscrewme lmao why does everyone go on nutn so much, hes not a bad guy, hes real. but this guy pete is like the same version just the younger cooler version who curses :) and yea, i hate how nutn talks about the glock so fuckn much stfu i hate glocks

  • it doesnt matter if the trigger is a skeleton trigger right?

  • Pete, great video and I have to agree Springfield is the cats ASS. Great value, great customer service. I ended up with the TRP and love it. But like you said if you want what our soldiers carried you need to get the GI also.

    Thanks,

    Pete R.

  • Hey brother, I loved the way you presented the three 1911s. I don't know much about different handguns (aside from what I carry for duty), so your channel is great for me! Also enjoyed the way you did the whole thing. The way you communicate is great bro (funny, to the point, and packed with good insight). Every agency should have a guy like you working for them. Hey, on a different subject, that 229 on your wallpaper, 357 or 40? Ok Great job man!

  • just thought i throw my 2 cents in i bought a High Standard 1911 45 for $515 iv shot over 2000 rounds out of it. i never had a ftf fte etc etc the fucking thing has worked flawlessly. it might not be a kimber or colt but its the best 1911 out there for the money period! rock island armory is another really good one for the money. high standard and rock island armory are both made by armscor. O and so is STI imo the best 1911 ever made

  • Hey, I just posted this question on one of your other videos. This video answers my questions quite nicely. Hope I was not a bother! Thanks for posting your opinions about these 1911's.

  • Pete, Your hair is unbelievable AWESOME, just thought I'd let you know....

  • i love the GI .45 but i hate the sights on it. they are the same sights on my WW1 origional 1911 tha was my great grand father's. would it be easy enough to buy the gi and change out the sights? and does the gi put dents in the brass when you shoot it? i love your videos, keep 'em coming.

  • check out my vid I got a T3, you should get comission.

  • one thing u didnt mention, more expensive guns almost always feed smoother than cheap guns

  • id take any of those 3, bu i prefer the origional lookof the springfeild. 1911's forever!

  • love your videos like the way you explain things!! Subscribed

  • I just purchased a springfield xd9. I'm very happy with it. It shoots GREAT. I agree with our comment on Springfield.

My next gun will be a 1911 .45 next year and that is why I watched your video. Great video man! I was already leaning towards Springfield before watching your vid. I'm glad I discovered your channel. You have a lot of videos!

  • yo man i might wnt a t shirt

  • Pete, what happened to your SW1911? The PD?

  • hey want kind of colt is that?

  • Subscribed

  • I want an American Classic II 45 ACP from the Pillipines. Do you know about this weapon & what are your thoughts on this gun? Thanks SCOUTS OUT!!!!

  • Don't think that I am dick ridding by saying this but I like the style if you vids no bullshit I also think that you have a beautiful gun collection

  • I like your opinions with guns and channel but you cuss to much for me to watch your videos when my family is around. (I'm not telling you to change but maybe something to think about.) Thanks, nice 1911's

  • nice guns man i LOVE 1911's

  • i love the way you review shit man! no bullshit or fucking around tryin to sound all professional. just tell me what i wanna kno straight the fuck up

  • Hey I'm looking to buy my first pistol I want a 1911 .45 I don't really care about brand accesories etc.. But I do want a full size gun none of the officer sizes and I want a full length guide rod I'm not looking to spend more than 300 so it's going to be used so what would be the best bet in terms of a used gun with what I want?

  • honestly the springfield Armory GI model 1911 would be perfect for me if it wasn't fucking made in goddamn brazil. Thats like opening up a bra of a girl who appears to be a D size to find it stuffed with socks. If I can find a SA GI model made in USA awesome. I would get vintage if I could afford it. But till that day, I am leaning towards the Para Ordinance GI expert. Not quite an exact replica but with a few modifications it will be pretty damn close.

  • always goin back to watch these great 1911 reviews!

  • mmm.....would be a difficult decision, but I prefer the springfield

  • HEY DO YOU KNOW IF i CAN GET AMMUNTION MAILED TO A P.O BOX????I KNOW ITS A WEIRD QUESTION..

  • @alejandrodlg3 If you name is from a Lady Gaga song then I'm not telling you shit. LOL

  • Nice review, Pete. Especially since I am planning on buying my first 1911 this year. Does the Kimber frame bother you on recoil? Every aluminum frame gun I ever bought was a pleasure to carry, kicked like a bitch, and so I hated shooting it! Interesting to hear your explanation of price difference and that the cheap Springfield shoots as good as the others. I think you got me aiming towards a blue commander. I like the barrel length on those, since I am a shot f*#*. Thanks, man!

  • "It doesn't have the modern... uh.. Shit on it"

    I love you man.

  • theres no such thing as a real nice springfield 1911,my brother bought one brand new and springfield themselves never could get it to run smooth

  • Dude are you from f**in Long Isand??

LOL. Maybe brooklyn originally? Whatever. You sound like every dude I grew up with. You are awesome. Unedited goodness!

  • im not quite sure what to get i dont care about weight, and i dont want a compact or a vintage i just want a modern 1911

    what should i buy?

  • great job dude thanks i always wanted a 1911 i had to save up i was gonna get a colt but always liked the springfield

  • On the colt cammander, is that a platypus saftey grip? Great vid, very informative and interaining.

  • What is the advantage of skeletonized triggers?

  • @speedwaypinoy you can adjust them...you can move them back some, adjust how much you need to pull it really

  • most probrally lessens the weight of the gun... and it looks cool

  • @speedwaypinoy its designed to reduce weight...every oz counts.

  • i reallylike your colt and was wondering if u could get the higher sights and skeletonized trigger for the springfeild one

  • Have you heard of the new Magnum Research 1911? I'm new to 1911's and was wondering if you knew if it was of good quality or not.

  • holy fuck man that was fast

  • hey man you still sellin shirts

  • naa stopped taking orders friday but ill do it again shortly.

  • @theARMORYchannel so did you get rid of that kimber?

  • @theARMORYchannel wait so the commanders mag holds 8 or 7 with 1 in the chamber

  • great fukin review . im lookin for reviews exactly like this one .excellent!

  • can you tell me about the quality of magnum research's 1911 series?

  • how does the desert eagle 1911 compare to these other models?

  • Hey Armory Channel,

Great vid! I have a quick question: I have never shot a Colt or a Kimber (I'm new to the 1911 world!) How would they compare to my STI Trojan?

    Thanks!

  • your Springfield is a 1911A1 model, which wasnt manufactured until 1924. the trigger is shorter, there are cut-outs in the frame behind the trigger, the backstrap is arched instead of flat, and there is a shorter spur on the hammer. not exactly the original, but still a great firearm for 1911 enthusiasts, especially of the ww2 period. GREAT VID!

  • the GI is nice but the originals had 7 round mags not 8

  • @wjrm6 I own one. It comes with a 7 round mag, but that's just to be old school. You can fit an 8 round mag in it just fine.

  • hey i have looked online and cant find a single real original 1911 so f you cold tell me the cost and if u could a place to buy one thanks

  • @scottchkill targetmaster in pa has the ww1 1911 for 950.00

  • @theARMORYchannel thanx to geting back so fast

  • @theARMORYchannel and i have grandparents up there haha

  • Video definitely helped. Thanks!

  • 4:58 sounds like someone queefed out a penny into a mason jar.

  • your cool dude, like your 1911's, im in the process of purchasing my 1st fire arm but i am really digging the glock 19 and beretta 92fs inox, but for sure i will eventually buy a 1911 for sure man..

  • Springfield Armory is not the same American Company that we associate with the famous Springfield rifle we have all heard of.... Springfield !911's for example the frames and slides are make in Brazil....(just a taurus??) Springfield XD's are made and I believe designed by Croatians in Croatian..There are a lot of things I would love to have from Brazil but,....a gun made there is not even on the list...

  • are you shooting ball ammo in these at the range? i heard they have problems with hollow points, and if that's true there's no point in carrying imho.

  • FUCK KIMBER ... springfield all the way! never shot a springfield i didnt LOVE and at an affordable price . you get twice what you pay for with springfield and you get half what you pay for with kimber!!!

  • @getbarryd your fuckin retarded. I have owned more 1911's than you have have fingered in a gun store. Springfield is over priced crap. I have owned at least 15 of them in various configurations (except the TRP) and they ALL needed work or I got rid of because they had issues i didnt want to fix. I have NEVER had to modify or repair a factory defect in a Kimber.

  • From 1 fat ass to another Pete (no offense) what size shirt (if I got one) do you think I should get ? I'm about 6ft and 260lbs, not a total fat fuck but a big guy. If I had some extra cash I would for sure sport your fucken shirt bro. Let me know.

  • id say 3x

  • @mixwell1983 HA HA HA HA HA......

  • nope, there is Colt and there is Springfield Armory, two different companies

  • abony- Colt and Sprinfield Armory are 2 different gun companies..

Hey bro whats your take on the Armscor/Rock Island Armory 1911 made in the Philipines?

  • @mixwell1983 I own one its great for the price. not afraid to drop it or change out parts.

  • The kimber would probably be the same price as the colt, only there are 3 differences, You covered the Night Sights, The Kimber name (like a status symbol,) but you left out its concealed carry rolled edge treatment (or whatever it's called.) You asked what you might have missed. Just letting you know. Good video though. Keep em comin, and I'll keep watchin.

  • I just be fine with a GI model, Government. Anyway, I do favor the low profile sights, that's going to be my next buy.

  • Springfield EMP (Enhanced Micro Pistol) 9mm 1911 type micro sized pistol it blows away a lot of other micro pistols.

  • what places can you get the $300 one??

  • If the Kimber with a 3" barrell shoots just as good as the Springfield with a 5" barrell I would have to say thats why it costs much more.

  • Love those Springfield GIs. Great price (even for the stainless) great looking sidearm (I prefer the original style over some of the newer models) and you can get a shorter barrel version. I think its around a 4" barrel? Around the same price as the standard GIs too, looks the same just a smaller package a better conceal carry option for those who prefer carrying a 1911 style firearm.

  • I did a bunch of research and decided that the MC Operator was the gun for me. Its a great 1911 and by the way your videos are great. I also like nutnfancy videos but man your hilarious. IE:

Hitting the camera with your chair..

Then realizing "rocks" may need to get be replaced!!! Hilarious.

    Instead of rocks maybe say...

    Epic? Total Package?

    KEEP THE VIDEOS GOING!

  • Nice vid! What's your opinion on the Taurus 1911?

  • i like it !! very nice

  • Good vid! I have a springfield mil spec 1911.. i agree the machining is great on the springfields and i couldnt justify the prices of the kimbers.. I dont buy that "closer tolerance" bullshit the kimber guys sell.. who the fuck wants a TIGHT 1911? The reason i got a 1911 in the first place was because its been through 2 world wars and countless other conflicts without any issues, they can be dipped in mud, sand, water, WHATEVER and still fire flawlessly. NOT from "closer tolerances"

  • Nice!

  • dude the micro compact Springfield 1911 also comes in 45 acp

  • thnx for the info on 1911's. im going soon to buy my first handgun and after watching this vid it will be a 1911.

  • I myself like S&W 1911's as well as Kimbers and springfields. I've never shot a colt so I can't give a good opinion on that. That GI model looks BEAUTIFUL. Have you ever shot the .22 Sig mosquito? I bought it for like $250 (really cheap, plus its .22 ammo) and I've had some jamming problems. I'm gonna send it back to Sig and hopefully they'll fix it up.

  • before you send it back try cci mini mags and try it again i bet you'll se a big difrence

  • first off the kimber has closer tolerances, that means that accuracy is increased, ramps are polished to help with feeding the ammo. Colt isnt worth the time, Springfield are good but no where near the tolerances as kimber. For the avarage shooter springfield is good. Kimber is the best PRODUCTION pistol on the market

  • i have a kimber dude!! and its no better than the colt or springfield and its the only 1911 i have that jammed. yes it has to be broken in.well we'll see when its broken in how well it does.and as far as colt? its the golden bird of 1911s sorry.

  • i guess it comes down to preferance, i have multilple 1911's and i have been on a few competitive shooting teams. I personaly like ed browns, but from just an accuracy stand point kimber is the best. My brown is better but thats b/c it has closer tolerances than all of those in the vid.

  • wow you have an ED BROWN!!! now thats a beatiful 1911 nice man. man i hope ill have an ED BROWN someday its the best by far.

  • my favorite pistols r colt 1911s the classic 1911s

  • ya it is

  • im looking at a para gi expert do you know if it is good or not

  • i here there real nice 1911s but i dont know myself

  • great vid man!

fucking awesom. 1911 < all other guns.

    in my opinion annyway

  • thanks

  • thanks man

  • i was hoping to sooner or later find a video about this topic. thanks bro

  • any

    time

  • PJC - Thanks for the video really help me out. i'll take your adavise on the Springfeild 1911. Shirts look great can't wait to get one,

    thank you again

  • great vid and nice pistol.

  • Good video. I think when I get my first 1911 it's probably going to be the Kimber SIS .45 or the TLE's are great also.

  • the fucking kimber is orgasmic lmao

  • thanks. ya i dont +1

  • Another thing that you should know, is that Springfield Armory Company customer service department are very nice, and very helpful, i had cracked one of my mil-spec 1911a1 wood grip panels, i called them to order 2 more, and they gave me 2 free grip panels.....pretty awesome...

  • i know man springfield is the best gun company!!!! hands down!!!

  • Im still leaning towards the government model. I just love bigger guns. Great vid

  • Shirt looks great man. Hey get some plus sizes man :P

  • Good video, 5 stars. Kimber is in full production of their 1911's and still can not keep up with demand. Apparently, they can charge as much as they want. Smithfield continues to amaze me, most bang for the buck :)

  • thanks for the vid. a 1911 will almost definitely be my first handgun purchase

  • dont get down if it jams its normal you have to break them in.just to let you know.

  • thanks for the info

  • NIce vid this will be real help full for me when i decide to get my 1911. By the way those t shirts "rock"...LOL

What will be your next gun purchase?

  • maybe HK not sure yet
