Unfortunately, many of our states specifically exempt rodeo from their animal cruelty laws because of the nonsensical notion that it's a historic necessity for our country and legislators are afraid to disrupt that. That does mean animal abuse is legal in rodeo arenas here, many people don't realize that, and that is what we are working to change through awareness.

I believe animals should be treated with some respect. They feed us with their meat, they provide service to the disabled, they help some of us live a normal, every day life. I do believe some of this is very dramatized within the narration but, regardless, this is far from respect to the animal that is giving us life.
I did a persuasive speech at school on why not to support rodeos because of the animal cruelty. My class felt very sad, and my class has juniors and seniors. They said that it was a touchy subject but they understand that the truth needs to be heard. Many of them didn't know about the barbaric acts.

I did a persuasive speech at school on why not to support rodeos because of the animal cruelty. My class felt very sad, and my class has juniors and seniors. They said that it was a touchy subject but they understand that the truth needs to be heard. Many of them didn't know about the barbaric acts.

They dont do that anymore, at least here, the get the back hoof and try to slow the horse before they stop and then the use their own physical strength to tip the cow and rope the feet. Less damage and less death to the cows. That an how the economy is now steers are not cheep at all anymore.

However, often times our beef does not come from young calves being tortured to do a repetitive process that they obviously would prefer not to do for the simple fact that it causes them bodily harm. I have a sneaking suspicion that if all of our meat were tortured this way before being slaughtered, there would be a couple more vegetarians..
