  • hahaha im a bad jew...i just call it the nummy egg bread... :D

  • your videos are seriously addicting

  • omg looks so good

  • @nicolesamsonite Thanks! Make some!

  • @danieldelaney!!! Hahaha when I was younger and that song "holla" by Spice girls came out, I made a new Jewified version called "challah"... acually it ]was a fantastic song.

I've been making my own challah since December and every time I make it, I change something, like half the flour - whole, wheat (great) , rice flour (not recommended lol), or adding honey to the glaze, sesame seeds vs. poppyseeds, raisins, etc.

So satisfying to be able to make my own =D I'll try out your recipe too!

  • @sillysnowflake Nice! What was the best combination / modification you came up with?

  • that looks yummy

  • @skleung It is! You should make some.

  • I dont understand what it does to the dough when you let it rise several times. I suppose the pain in my butt is worth it...

  • @PlatypusGuitar It really aerates the dough. It also helps the flavor develop.

  • Very interesting!!

  • @TheVittleVlog Thanks! You should make some.

  • mmmmmmmm yummy. I finally tasted briche and it was great (used it in french toast...I will never go back to Wonder bread for french toast) I want to try some challah soon :)

  • @MAJazzy08 Oh no, once you use something like this, it's hard to go back to Wonder bread.

  • I have eaten challah bread my entire life, and it has never failed to taste good. Its basically brioche, with less sugar, both are a type of bread called 'enriched' because of the edition of eggs. I have made challah a few times, but they are always not as good as the pro-baker's challah. The home cook just cannot match those blast steaming ovens. Other than eating it plain, my favorite uses are bread pudding, French toast, and for my PB&J.

  • @thePowerPlant Yea - Bread making is one of those things where technology and skill mean so much.

  • *snicker* Dan, the intro is hysterical. Now I want to eat challah. Raiding my Jewish friend's kitchen fo shizzle.

  • @kimd3pg You should. Challah is the best. Ever.
