  • One of my favorite Christmas pieces--thanks for sharing.

  • The soloist has a beautiful voice.

RVW is my favourite of all the British composers - his Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis trul remarkable.

    tac

  • Is it just me or is that director confusing. He's not really helping out the choir or the orchestra. O.o

  • Superb!

  • where is the rest of the song? is there any other footage?

  • Also, it's gorgeous.

  • does the soloist think that vaughan williams is hildegard von bingen?

  • I don't get this comment.....

  • A lot of Vaughan William's choral music is actually pretty reminiscent of Gregorian Chant (like his phrase structure, use of open fifths, long phrases on one syllable) so I think his interpretation is appropriate. If you ask me, does a very nice job :)

  • I already really like this interpretation of it.

  • actually*

  • A touch of the mystery and wonder of the Creator in this piece.Simply marvelous .

  • Wow, simply mind blowing voices. Lovely music.

    Beautiful.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Welldone and God bless†

  • Well done.... nice pacing, blend, and soloist.... RVW remains a legend in my mind and heart....

  • We played this for our holiday concert yesterday (December 7, 2007). It was our high school orchestra and the chamber choir and as much I loathed actually playing this song (violists always get such fun parts *sarcasm*)it was truly one of the most beautiful pieces to listen to.

  • beautiful

  • December 7th, 2007, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will perform this piece , among others, and it is absolutely AWESOME!!

  • The Choral Society at my school is doing this for Xmas... it's a baritone solo btw lol ;-)

I sing soprano on it... so beautiful...

  • moving, what voices.

  • Woah I was just sitting there enjoying that and then realised that it was in my home town at a place I rehearse every week. WOAH x

    (wot a spaz)

  • I had never heard this song a week ago.. i now absolutely love it! its beautiful, i wish it didnt cut off at the end though.

  • I love this interpretation because it involves a lyric tenor and not an operatic tenor. I think a lyric tenor works better to capture the overall mysterious warmth that the piece exerts.

  • This beuatiful. Particularly the tenor soloist and the strings with a lovely warm tone.

  • vaughan williams rules
