  • The tortoise sure pulled a fast one on that hare.

  • That is one rude rabbit, isn't it?

  • @NaiTaiDai

    Ummm...it was one cocky hare!!!

  • No, it's Marty.

  • How can you tell?

  • It seems like the tortoise used fire power to be the fast one to win the race as of proving he might be one of the other fastest animals to win the race.

  • apparently the tortoise has been taking advice from eddie guererro.

  • It look like that this race is being held at a Golf Course

  • Technically speaking, the tortoise did indeed cheat. But the hare was being such a stuck up jerk that I don't think anyone cares.

  • This is definetly similar to the Warner Bros. cartoon "Rabbit Transit" directed by Friz Freleng in 1947 starring Bugs Bunny & Cecil Turtle.

  • Excuse me...lol

  • That hare is a jerk-I love the part where he goes "Nah nah nah nah nah!" to the tortoise.I loved the tortoise's little jet pack!XD! Smart and steady won this race!

  • gotta love how the tortoise won this rematch, I sure did XD

  • Ha ha. Sesame street ripping off Looney Tunes.

  • Yeah, Marty sounded A LOT like the tortoise from the early Looney Toons. "Duh, yep, an air flow chassie"...."Excuse me"

  • I haven't seen this in long time. Thanks a lot.

  • Who is doing the voices of the tortise and the hare?

  • The hare's easy to describe: Jerry Nelson (the Count, Herry, Robin the Frog). I'm not sure who did the tortoise, but it might be the same voice of the Grover fast food restaurant skit: "Be with you in a moment sir".

  • I think Frank Oz voiced the Tortoise. It sounds like the Tortoise in the original 1971 Tortoise and Hare segment. Jerry Nelson also voiced the hare in that skit, just as he did in this one.

BTW, this rematch skit is from 1987

  • Actually, I believe this one was from either 1989 or 1990, before Jim Henson's death.

  • @muppetfan33 Yeah. Kermit's last news flashes had Kermit's hat brim doesn't flip around the strap.

& has anyone noticed that in some audience cheers from SS, they used the Riverbottom Nightmare Band cheers from Emmet Otter? You can hear Snake's "Yah-yeaaaah!" when they walk out of the music store somewhere between 1:16-1:22

  • The tortoise is played by Frank Oz.

  • Not this one, it's Martin Robinson.

  • I read the transcript of this sketch on the toughpigs website, and from what I read, the tortoise is played by Frank Oz, while the referee is played by Martin Robinson.

  • I don't want to get into politics but when you listen to that tortoise carefully, you can hear Martin. But I don't know who the referee is though.

  • OK.

  • Maybe Marty Robinson did both the Tortoise and the Referee.

Also, in the original, the tortoise was made out of a green Anything Muppet (you can tell by the cone-shaped head). In this one, it's either a custom turtle puppet, or a Small Green Anything Muppet (like the Hot Pink AM used for Prairie Dawn, but green)

  • Didn't Robinson play the tortoise again in the Grover skit? It's the fast food restaurant (Grover/waiter) skit and when the customer wanted 'slow food' the tortoise comes and said "Be with you in a moment sir'.

  • They're both Martin.

  • As I recall it was Kermit the Frog who won the last race and he was not even racing.

  • Sheesh, the rabbits pretty cocky.
