  • love the video man

  • very inovative!!!!!!!

  • Hey, how did you do that barrier at 0:35? Great video btw :)

  • @BleachSamui97 It is essentially a berm barrier used to dissipate some of the waves initial energy thus reducing the impact on shore. Hope this helps.

  • @tpokoyoway oohh ok. Also, how do you attach this things to the bottom of the container? Sorry for all the questions, its just that i have a science fair that is similar to this :)

  • This is a good idea, but I was wondering if this actually shows what happens in a real tsunami?

  • @frozenpenguinful I believe it is a simplified version of an underwater plate shift causing water to travel from the point of displacement to the shore picking up speed and height as it reaches the shoreline. Just Google it.

  • Thank you do much ive been scrounging around looking for a good science project this is a great idea

  • please respond if you see this how did you make the structurs and the ones that look like there made from skewers how did you weigh it to the bottom?

    thank you,

    kooling97

  • realy well done !!! :-)

  • how did you measure the force or the difference between the control and the other experiments?

  • @omgwtfroflmbo It is hard to tell, but there is a little orange sponge in the corner on the rocks where the wave crashes up onto. So we set a dry sponge for each trial and measured how much water the sponge soaked up for each trial to determine how effective each trial was. Not very scientific, but good enough.

  • @tpokoyoway thanks for the help.

  • thats budget

  • thanks Mr.tpokoyoway, now I can work on my science fiar project

  • I used this as my science project, and I won! Awesome idea!

  • @David656ness Awesome! Congratulations! Glad it worked out for you. If you have any pics or video of it I would love to see it.

  • @David656ness what materials did u use

  • @flame459 I just used something like a long-ish plastic shoe bin, rocks, and a wooden board. It was pretty basic, but it was a good turnout.

  • thanks for the help on the homework

  • they don't like your project in Japan(JK)

  • my new science project! ty dude it helped me alot!

  • im using this for our science night :)

  • Very nice sir

  • I think this is the best tsunami model i've found on the internet! I'm using this for my science project :)

    Thanks!

  • @totogirl0

    me too. :D

  • Thanx heaps. Cos there is like nothing on the internet

  • i need one that breaks buildings

  • nice little wave

  • this is really nice. you can totally see the wave. and the upward bottom movement of the plates can be clearly seen using the plastic cutting.

  • cool

  • Wow! Great Idea.

  • ese es un tsunami

  • hey i need some help what did you use on this project

  • It is simply a underbed storage container filled with dyed water, rocks and seashells piled up on one end to simulate shore line. Then I took a plastic cutting board to simulate the underwater earthquake (by pulling up on it) to create the Tsunami wave. My students came up with the various methods to try to prevent the Tsunami from crashing up on the shore. They used the principles of refraction, reflection and diffraction from the Waves unit in the Science class. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Thanks! Now I know how to create tsunami (small sized) :)

  • thx for help d;.

doing this for my project xD

  • that very great!

  • im gonna do it too!! thx

  • Cool! Glad you enjoyed it. My students really liked this project as well.

    Have fun.

  • This Is Actually An Amazing Video!

ME and My friend are going to try this Demo for

    our science project!

    Awsome Idea !

  • @LynzeMishelleRotten me tooo ecxcept its for my sciance fair
