  • fuken awsome! my insperation!

  • @FijianSoldier Thannk you.

  • You sir are a badass, that was epic

  • @NextProtege Thank you. I have an APA push/pull meet in 3 weeks. Hoping for 600+ at 198...

  • That's impressive, but I don't know why you used a mixed grip with straps. I tore my bicep picking up a mini fridge 4 days after deadlifting 600 in a meet. Now I just deadlift double overhand with straps for sets of 10 for fun and conditioning. That mixed grip is a killer! Most big deadlifters end up tearing their biceps off the bone. They should legalize straps in competition- they have legalized bench shirts that add 300 pound plus in the name of "safety."

  • @thepsychopimp not sure why I did that either. Never been afraid of tearing a bicep... just flex your tris (it keeps you from pulling with the bis).

Bench shirts started off as a safety step but more so they allow BIGGER numbers. Straps on the deadlift will NOT equal bigger numbers.

  • @thepsychopimp Why don't you just learn the hook grip?

  • @thepsychopimp A lot of lifters that tear their biceps do so due to steroid use.

  • @amarone1956 I've never taken a steroid and I ruptured mine off the bone.

  • check out my videos please! I weigh 161 and I deadlifted 445.

  • @lildrummerboy189 some pretty good lifts for 161!

  • damn man, as if 500 pounds for 1 isnt impressive enough you have to go and hit it for 16 repps...holy shit... id be lucky enough to hit 300 for 16 reps9nbut i dod ead stop no straps)

just curious, how come you used mix gripz? i mean you used straps, so i dont see why you still used mixed? surely youre strong enough to use DO grip with straps for only 500?

anyway youre very strong man, i can only imagine lifting this for 1!

  • thanks! not sure why I went mixed... no reason really. I could have done mixed with NO straps or DO without. By the time I noticed I was already pulling. First time onstage in front of that many people... nerves I guess.

  • @trainerjoe Thats extremely impressive. Way to go ! :D

  • Thanks! I was smoked for about a week after that!

  • Amazing.. how long are you training?

  • started a little back in high school. Currently 32 years old. a few years... lol

  • Seriously buddy. You definitely looked bigger than 225. Lot more shoulder, chest and back on ya looks like. You mentioned doing a lot more overhead work in a comment I posted on your 405 single. Would like to hit you up on that one day as to the overhead work you've been doing.

I hear ya on the joints. A break is always good from the heavies.

Keep up the good work. Crowd went nuts! You must have loved it!

  • Thanks bro! This lift was the highlight of my strength training... absolutely incredible!

  • Insane! Nice work Joe! You sure you were only 225? You look 240 easy! LOL.

  • Ha 240! That would be great. I was right around 225 a bit after that I got up to 229 for a strongman contest and now I am currently 200 even on my way to the 190s! (joints needed a rest)

  • Very nice Joe!

You sponsored by Universal Nutrition (Animal shirt)?

  • Thank you!

You'd think doing something like that would garner a little attention from some companies... not so much :(

  • omg..im weak and lame

  • gotta start somewhere! If you pull more in 3 months than you do now, that's all that matters! Just stay consistent.

  • dam dats pretty sick

  • Thanks.

  • What's your height?

  • I am 5'8"

  • Sweet deal.

  • Thanks

  • wow

  • Thanks
