level 3 is NOT the same as level 1. the ceiling starts to come down and it gets pretty hard....

the game is a classic, as you sad one of the first games for gameboy. and as a classic it doesn't have to be the best.

if you played it longer, you would have seen a lot more levels that are quite fun. especially the bonus levels.

The best parts of this Game Boy title are the bonus levels. They have music while you let the ball hit the blocks forming old-school Mario sprites.

This game looks like a classic. BTW, even though level 3 was the same, they added a gimic of lowering the ceiling after the ball hits the paddle a few times. That's great!

The awesome news is a new Arkanoid game is coming out at Japan in December for DS with a knob controller that plugs into the GBA slot. It sure will make Alleyway look even worse.

I actually got through all thirty levels once. Then the game just starts over, I thought at least the difficulty would increase but it doesn't, your score just keeps going up and up but it doesn't save it anyway and who really wants to have the top score on Alleyway, so I just said fuck this and turned it off. Haven't played it since.

they did (and heres something they snuck into it. Mario can also be seen alot in this game. Mario acts as the ball in the bonus stage, and most of the blocks in the bonus stages are shaped like mario enemies. The title screen shows a ship flowing across the water, where as mario is the captain. And finnaly, where it shows the amount of lives you have, the icon is mario)
