French Twist for Long Hair (Knee Length)

Thank you! My hair is about "classic length" (it reaches the tops of my thighs) so most of the time I wear it braided or in a bun, but I've wanted to try a French twist for a long time.

And ignore all these idiots telling you to cut your hair. It's YOUR hair, YOUR choice, and NOBODY can tell you how to wear it.

I'm so happy to find your channel, my hair is around your length (slightly shorter) and I found it so hard to style it differently once in a while: I always just stick to a braid. Plus, I can relate to the persistent questions on "why don't you cut it? Isn't it hard? How do you brush/wash it?" ;p

as a hairstylist, i have to say that that is NOT a french twist. there was no twisting involved, or any pins either. ideally, a french twist is for hair thats around shoulder length, because if its much longer you cant twist all of it and you run out of room to pin.

@muffin2287 Regardless of twisting or pins being used, it certainly looks like any quality french twist I have ever seen. I didn't realize the proper definition of French Twist necessitated the use of pins. Quite frankly (and as another long hair) I love the look at proudly wear it.

A shoutout to all long hair ladies: when I see beautiful hairdos like that, and I guess (usually right) that the hair is very long, I'm burning to ask the gifted bearer one question: "would you let it down for me, please?" Is there any chance or is there any way to ask this question, without bieng perceived as a deranged fetichist, that would amke the beautiful person agree to let the bun dwn for an instant? Or is it really too personal and an intimate thing to ask?

Frenchinmiami: I wouldn't ask. Many women will probably be put out by a request like that, because frankly, it does seem a weird (possibly creepy) thing to ask. Besides, it would probably be a hassle to take the hair down and then have to put it up again afterwards, just because some stranger wants to admire their hair. Also, some women spend a long time on getting certain buns/twists/whatever just right, if it's a hairdo they're not used to doing.

Thank you JJJ! I am sure it will look stunning on your blond hair! The only problem is the twist ends up being so big since we have a lot of hair to squeeze in.

To avoid all the loose bits, you may find it is easier to try on damp hair. Mine was somewhat wet in this vid.

Opps missed a question. No I don't wear it often because I think it looks too big. This is one style that I prefer the way it looks on shorties. Mine resembles the taxmanian devil from Looney Tunes when he goes into a spin -aka a tornado.
