  • i just bought some tulips bulbs last week they were leftovers in a store from early fall.i noticed they are sprouting in the bags.should i plant them when tulips start to come up around here? i live in the northeast.

  • thanks! this is very helpful

  • Certain Tulips are perennial- some better than others. None that are potted should be handled at perennial...

The video is good but you should not add any fertilizer at all with potted tulips. The bulbs only gather nutrients after their bloom and that is used for the next year's bloom. You should use soiless potting mix as well.

The video doesn't stress the fact that you need to keep the pot from freezing over. You need to burry the entire pot anyplace above NC. This is very important.

  • are tulips perennial?
