Parkins is so feminine and very attractive, and she gives a candid performance, I think even Anna Held would have been a little jealous, had she lived to see this.

@stanibol -- I'm sure Barbara will be as pleased as I am to read you comment. She has often said that this role and film are her favorite, especially because it was the only time she got to appear in a musical. And I agree, she is wonderful!

I couldn't agree with you more . . . and I hope you get to see this entire film someday, because aside from her wonderful musical performances, she gives a very touching, moving, vulnerable, and ultimately heartbreaking performance as Anna Held.

Wow, what a treat! I've always felt Barbara Parkins was one of the most beautiful women to grace the screen. I had no idea she was so talented as well. I stayed up past my bedtime just to watch her on Peyton Place!
