  • me too it made me remember" the raindrop" from chopin....before I looked to the comments....

  • This reminds me of Chopin's so-called "Raindrop" preluded.

  • @Khanalee 'reminds' you? Just listened to it--it's the same piece.

  • @invertedchords No... its not the same piece.

  • A fascinating find. Thanks for uploading.

  • Sounds somewhat similar to Chopin's Raindrop Prelude --- one Field biography says Chopin was inspired by Field? Food for thought ---

  • @XxCarrieAnne91xX i read that Field came up with the Nocturne music style

    Chopin popularized it

  • @XxCarrieAnne91xX Chopin was very much inspired by Field's music, although this was not reciprocated. Field disliked Chopin's nocturnes, saying they were overly dramatised.

  • @samuelishmedia Field was jealous of Chopin's genius.....

  • Definitely the atmosphere John Field was well known for. I also find some of his piano concertos well worth listening too. E.g. the one were the melody of his 12th nocturne in G reappears in the middle part. I put the Nocturne itself on my site for Christmas...

  • i dont know but ill find out now

  • john fields is my great grandad im so proud of his music

  • Congratulations, You have good reason to be proud! Are you a descendent through Field's illegimate son Leon Charpentier, b,1815, or his son Adrien Field, b. 1820?

  • sweet

  • the no.4 nocturne in a maj. is also very lovely

  • no.4 is one of my favorites

  • do you have a score of it?
