the balance of power in higher education is really shifting. used to be that the faculty were really the power base (up until about world war 1) then the age of the administration came in. Now we are entering the age of the consumer and I will predict that by the next generation, higher education will be similar to cinema and cable tv in its market and business practice and relationship with its market.
