I guess I'm a living contradiction or something, because I love Dying Fetus, and Zach Galifianakis is my favorite comedian. I don't know I guess everyone dislikes us death metal fans. But, then again, I guess no one is cool enough for the indie crowd unless their clothes are from the sixties and they have an acoustic.

I think that many perceive metal fans, especially extreme metal fans, as being somewhat humourless. I listen to primarily death metal but I also love Galifianakis and Cross and a lot of other "indie" comics, as do a few of my friends.

But I think we're in the minority - we're the exception, not the norm. A good amount of death metal fans I've met are just as humourless and unable to laugh at themselves as a lot of indie rock fans.

(ps Posehn has pretty awful taste in metal)

But I wasn't so found of the Owings and Earles guys, think most of their pretentiousness would of been better off unshown.
