HOW COME WHEN YOU DONT SAY BBC OWNS DOCTOR WHO THEY LEAVE YOUR VIDEO, BUT WHEN I SAY IN THE DESCRIPTION BBC OWNS DOCTOR WHO, THEY BLOCK MY VIDEO?! not that i want this blcked :|
CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON WAS THE BEST, he had a funny, and seriouse side to him,
he wasnt around long enough, and i miss him like hell, david tennant WAS good, but i think christopher eccleston was better, i like matt smith aswell, finnaly a young doctor, hes not to young, not to old, but anywayz christopher eccleston was dead funny XD
@electriclord3 I agree Eccleston was good; however he was afraid of typecasting and other issues so he left after one season. I think it was a mistake though - he hasn't done a lot since unlike Tennant (out of those who left) and I feel Smith post his tenure. That was his choice though I and respect it.
This has a lot more Oomph behind it than the David Tennant and Ecclestone openings. The beating drum in the background gives it so much energy and I love that!
Such an unnecessary change, the old time vortex, theme tune and logo were perfect; no need for Moffat to change all of this. He made many unpopular changes so why is he introducing changes that are unnecessary, it only makes him all the less popular with whovians
@ScrubsOracle96 Go ahead and believe whatever you like, but just listen to the intro from the previous doctor and this intro. Moffat added a significant amount of orchestra to the theme, which I personally think was an improvement.
@swatslayer5 I do have a guilty pleasure of liking the new one, but the old one made more sense when it comes to time vortex as it is inspired by the doppler effect, but a storm cloud is just silly.
The doctor was traveling in the TARDIS from 2005. when he regenerated into the 11th doctor. However, the TARDIS crash landed in 1996 because of the regeneration, therefore the Doctor met Amy Pond
Big fan grew up with the Dr , got to say all the other Dr Who's were just leading up to this , The best Dr so far.. Matt Smith Best stories so far best intro ...Amy Pond...Everything. You nostalgic types, really come on.. get off David Tennent's cock for a while the poor man's sick of your whinging
@maiinf Likewise. I grew up having Tom Baker as my childhood Doctor Who and the episodes with Tennant just couldn't get me to give a long try. Eventually I decided to begin the 2005 reboot with Matt Smith. Best decision ever.
I just started watching doctor who, and i've seen all of Christopher Eccleston, and just finished watching David Tennant, whos the dude im on at the moment then?
I'll admit, i wasn't sure about this new theme at first, but after a few episodes of series 5, i started to like it. now i love it just as much as all the other themes.
by the way, Doctor Who DID have story arcs. what about Bad Wolf? Torchwood? Harold Saxon? they're story arcs... albeit background ones until the 12th/13th episodes. I love Doctor Who and probably always will... though i accept everyone's opinion is different. not everyone likes Steven Moffats stories.
Writing: Come on Moffat, you can do better! Forget these shitty story arcs and do what you do best! Scary standalone stories, like you did in the RTD era. Also, cut down on time travel. Why don't you try going from A-B- rather than A-W as you do nowadays.
@natranr No it aint. The basis of the show back in 1963 was the Doctor travelling through time and having adventures. That basis has been stuck to until Steven Moffat arrived.
@riaminal Not really. At least when he ran it there were straightforward adventures. Although admittedly he did visit 2000's London much too much. Thats another thing I do like about SM era: its very rareley set in the present.
Actually the intro rather makes sense you know, all the lightnings striking Tardis now that we saw Silence can shoot lightning bolts and they were the one who made Tardis explode...
wow i can believe it but can somebody tell me that the red cloud wormhole was the heat section that something corrupted space and time and even the blue cloud of the wormhole section is being covered of time lightnings and time electricity
@jjoeshaw nope, not in some places where there is matter, and where it's movements creates electrical fields. and this is not space. it's more like a wormhole.
I like this opening sequence I think it suits for a welcome change. I'm not saying the last one was bad I enjoyed it. The last one screamed to me "Get ready for advanture" but one says to me more "Something spooky gonna happen".
There's only one problem with this. In the series the windows have a white tint, yet in the titles, they have a yellow tint. But still a great title sequence for a great show.
Why can't Steven Moffat make all his episodes like the Eleventh Hour? If he scrapped the complicated shit and made them all like this one here Doctor Who would be so much more popular.
@TsoLan1 I like it being complicated. The Doctor is a very smart ALIEN so it should be pretty complicated but the most f-ed up think is that in the end it all makes sense
They ruined this brilliant theme with the stupid amy clip in front of it. WHAT THE HECK?? ITS NOT AMY'S SHOW AND THE DOCTORS NOT A FAIRYTALE. EVERY TIME THEY PLAY IT ONE OF TEDESCUCCI'S KITTENS CLIMB BACK UP MY BUTT AND FERMENT AND DIE.
@tiagoversalike In the new season. With the "When I was a little girl..." segment before the open credits. It's pretty lame. I hope they get rid of it next season. Completely unnecessary.
@ThunderStorm8 It's put in because a whole new crowd of people in the US are tuning in to watch Doctor Who on a Saturday for the first time and a lot of them won't know what it is just to let them know what the story was they added the "When I was a little girl..." Section we don't have it in Britain because most British (50-75%) watch Doctor Who already American ratings went from (20-70%)
@Ben78177 Not every episode has that intro, Ive seen almost every episode now of every season and I live in Florida. Ive been watching bbc america for about 15 or so years now. Its an awesome series. Still Im just rambling but my point here is yes it is repetitive and anoying after a while. But great intro music. What I want to know is why cant you hear the lightning strikes in the fist intro?
Didn't like it when I first heard it...but now it's my favourite of them all. Love the lightening bolts smashing into the TARDIS! And, it may sound silly, but I swear this theme is perfect for the 11th Doctor - it seems to in some bizarre way reflect his personality.
if your a REAL who fan you would not care what the intro and the person playing the dr is like as long as dr who stays on tv i don't care how it changes it will always my my number 1 tv show of all time better than all these crap talent and reality shows
@BossRoss999 Aaactually I disagree, if you're a REAL... er... "Whovian"... No, that sucks. If you're a REAL Doctor Who fan, then you'll remember how cool the theme was back when William Hartnell and Tom Baker were the doctor, and you'll greatly, GREATLY appreciate how Matt Smith's theme changed from Tennant's and Eccleston's
@BossRoss999 It will always been my #1 Tv show because no matter which one it is, the actors who portray the Doctor always make him both look like a hero and a babbling idiot at the same time. If that isn't good character development, I don't know what is.
the first series i watched was series 5 with the eleventh doctor, but i started on series 4 and i dunno which sequence i like better (with the TARDIS doing the awesome vortex switch). plus tennant is freaking amazing. oh and by the way theres a dot com site called i watch doctor who (one word) where you can watch everything.
If you look at the Doctor Who logo turning into the TARIDS closely in these credits, it's actually on fire! (I had to cheat and use Sony Vegas to zoom in on it XD)
No doubt my favourite titles of Doctor Who of all time :) It feels awseme when your whole family is just sat watching the episode with you and the EPIC TUNE with the lightning kicks off and youre thinking FUCK YEAH BEING A FAN ROCKS!! :P
I was terrified coming up to the titles, I was thinking over and over "They're just gonna re-hash the same boring titles we've had from 2005 I just know it, and have the same crap theme, oh GOD!"
Then...as soon as the first lighting bolt slammed into the TARDIS flying through the Baker-esk vortex, with an AWESOME theme...I just leant back, folded my arms..and said 'F**k Yeah...'
@TheOnComingStorm121 You too, huh? When it did that intro bit at 00:02, I thought it was gonna be the same theme AGAIN, but, I digress, this theme is my fave.
@TheOnComingStorm121 seriously these titles are good but the old titles are just BETTER my opinion. Anyways crap theme how in the world was them old theme CRAP! THE OLD THEME WAS AMAZING
@Mrazmatmahmood Because it was overly orchesteral, lost the otherworldly feel the theme has to have and also was too lazy to make it's own melody, so it just recycled the Derbyshire version.
Well...I've changed my mind!I still prefer David Tennant's titles, but now I like them...Oh,and Matt Smith isn't so awful as a doctor...I think victory of the Daleks and Beast Below are awful, but it's OK!!!
WHATEVER... WE RULE THIS UNIVERSE. Cute though, "2 became 1" Matt met Steve, and there's a Matt Smith. Guess it defined him too. Anyway, back to real-World.
"Australia and their laser beam teleport?". We were talking about this , finally, and they can't beat Time-Space travel on a budget of $620 , dodging cops, and taking punches to the head. Screw YOU and your "Second coming of MY stolen giant laser" Australia...
It's in the surveiallance reports. "The moving finger writes...."
How does Matt Smith not sh*t himself when he hears that music playing, then the TARDIS, THEN his name comes on the screen as the Doctor? ... I'd shit a kitten, man... no doubt. Every single time... shit a kitten.
By the end of the season, I'd have an entire litter of stinky kittens.
Could I wash them? Yes... sure... but some things just don't wash out.
William Hartnell Thats Doctor Who However, ALL the actors have been great, it is just the first one that you see in the role will Always be your main Dr.
@BowTiesRCool I didn't knew it before, but we actually do. ^^" Only since the new series. We have season 2 on TV and yet the 3 in dvd. (I bought them and finally began to watch, it's really so much amazing. :D )

So if the Tardis somehow got destroyed and then rebuilt, would that make it the Re-Tardis?

Mrazmatmahmood 9 months ago

This is cool...it goes more with Matt's doctor character as well...like when the TARDIS gets hit by lightning but it still bumbles along :L
