  • HOW COME WHEN YOU DONT SAY BBC OWNS DOCTOR WHO THEY LEAVE YOUR VIDEO, BUT WHEN I SAY IN THE DESCRIPTION BBC OWNS DOCTOR WHO, THEY BLOCK MY VIDEO?! not that i want this blcked :|

  • CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON WAS THE BEST, he had a funny, and seriouse side to him,

he wasnt around long enough, and i miss him like hell, david tennant WAS good, but i think christopher eccleston was better, i like matt smith aswell, finnaly a young doctor, hes not to young, not to old, but anywayz christopher eccleston was dead funny XD

  • @electriclord3

I agree, i wish he would have been the Doctor longer.

  • @electriclord3 I agree Eccleston was good; however he was afraid of typecasting and other issues so he left after one season. I think it was a mistake though - he hasn't done a lot since unlike Tennant (out of those who left) and I feel Smith post his tenure. That was his choice though I and respect it.

  • This has a lot more Oomph behind it than the David Tennant and Ecclestone openings. The beating drum in the background gives it so much energy and I love that!

  • i want to watch this so bad but i cant find a link

  • @pokemon2345610 tv(dot)blinkx(dotcom) Just search the Doctor Who show. ;)

  • I for one like all the Doctors, new and classic alike. Why argue when they're all awesome? :-)

  • I always begin hating the new doctor and companion and end up loving them more than any of the previous ones.

  • omg, 31 daleks disliked this!

  • Such an unnecessary change, the old time vortex, theme tune and logo were perfect; no need for Moffat to change all of this. He made many unpopular changes so why is he introducing changes that are unnecessary, it only makes him all the less popular with whovians

  • @ScrubsOracle96 Go ahead and believe whatever you like, but just listen to the intro from the previous doctor and this intro. Moffat added a significant amount of orchestra to the theme, which I personally think was an improvement.

  • @swatslayer5 I do have a guilty pleasure of liking the new one, but the old one made more sense when it comes to time vortex as it is inspired by the doppler effect, but a storm cloud is just silly.

  • @ScrubsOracle96 rule of cool I guess

  • @DarkInfernoZora Agreed. Rule of Cool plays a huge part here.

  • Does this mean there's moisture in the void? Because you need some kind of moisture in order for clouds to form.

I love the new titles and the music is fun to listen to.

  • does anyone know the name of the font used in the names "MATT SMITH" and "KAREN GILLAN"

  • But seriously, music aside (it's fine to me really). The Logo, is the best logo ever. A million times better than the 2005 logo.

  • I'm sorry. While series 5 is great and all, I just miss the old gritty feel of Dr. Who. It's almost TOO clean now :(

Thumbs up so others can see.

  • I used to do nothing, But then i took a sonic screwdriver in the knee,

  • @Minimum1337

The doctor was traveling in the TARDIS from 2005. when he regenerated into the 11th doctor. However, the TARDIS crash landed in 1996 because of the regeneration, therefore the Doctor met Amy Pond

  • Ok so how did the Doctor go from 2005 to 1996? (From meeting Rose 2005 and then going to Amelia Pond in 1996)

  • @Minimum1337 Time... travel? Honestly, people.

  • @danaseilhan Well duuuh -.- The thing is that I never saw any sign of time travel during the time he flew up to the sky and then down to the earth

  • At first I was realizing "where's the original bass line?" Then I turned up the bass on my speakers... and I was "That's better."

  • @joonamato IT ROCKS

  • @ClubPenguinK9 It's way worse than the intro on season 4 for example...

  • @joonamato look asshole you ave ur opinion i have mine so shut up

  • @ClubPenguinK9 you started bro

  • @joonamato You still talkin bro?

  • Sometimes when I feel sad, I come here and listen to the theme song.

  • Ths youtube video has better quality than the DW intro in Netflix. wtf?!

  • The new intro is the best yet.

  • From when the time vortex has lightings in it? Cheap effects can be cheap, yeah.

  • Big fan grew up with the Dr , got to say all the other Dr Who's were just leading up to this , The best Dr so far.. Matt Smith Best stories so far best intro ...Amy Pond...Everything. You nostalgic types, really come on.. get off David Tennent's cock for a while the poor man's sick of your whinging

  • @maiinf Likewise. I grew up having Tom Baker as my childhood Doctor Who and the episodes with Tennant just couldn't get me to give a long try. Eventually I decided to begin the 2005 reboot with Matt Smith. Best decision ever.

  • @maiinf David tennant isn't nostalgia, Tom Baker is ^_^

  • @SonofNightmare:D your absolutely right Tom Baker is easily in the nostalgia bucket

  • @maiinf doesn't matter,Tennant will allways be the best doctor by far,Smith is WAY to young to even play the doctor.

  • @Irishandproud20 There's really no 'too young' considering the Doctor comes back in a different form every time.

  • @IanConar You're on Matt Smith.

  • THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME THING I'VE EVER SEEN

  • I just started watching doctor who, and i've seen all of Christopher Eccleston, and just finished watching David Tennant, whos the dude im on at the moment then?

  • @IamConar Matt Smith. :D

  • I'll admit, i wasn't sure about this new theme at first, but after a few episodes of series 5, i started to like it. now i love it just as much as all the other themes.

by the way, Doctor Who DID have story arcs. what about Bad Wolf? Torchwood? Harold Saxon? they're story arcs... albeit background ones until the 12th/13th episodes. I love Doctor Who and probably always will... though i accept everyone's opinion is different. not everyone likes Steven Moffats stories.

  • I've notticed that series 5/6 opening theme has some dubstep influence in it. I like it alot.

  • @natranr LOL dubstep influence

  • Does anyone know the font used where it says 'The Eleventh Hour' (or other episode title) in the opening sequence?

  • Okay... Doctor Who 2011...

    Lead Actor: Brilliant

    More than one companion: Brilliant

    Retro Tardis exterior: Brilliant

    Large circular scanner: Brilliant

Writing: Come on Moffat, you can do better! Forget these shitty story arcs and do what you do best! Scary standalone stories, like you did in the RTD era. Also, cut down on time travel. Why don't you try going from A-B- rather than A-W as you do nowadays.

  • @TsoLan1 its doctor Who, its all about time travel wibbly wobbly stuffy... um... stuff.

its made to make you think, but dont think too hard, or your brain might implode.

    I actually like his writing.

  • @natranr No it aint. The basis of the show back in 1963 was the Doctor travelling through time and having adventures. That basis has been stuck to until Steven Moffat arrived.

  • @TsoLan1 You're right. Doctor Who never had story arcs before.

  • @rubino83 Wrong! Bad Wolf? Torchwood? Harold Saxon?

  • @TsoLan1 RTD flushed that down the toilet IMO

  • @riaminal Not really. At least when he ran it there were straightforward adventures. Although admittedly he did visit 2000's London much too much. Thats another thing I do like about SM era: its very rareley set in the present.

  • No they did not make the tardis explode, you dick weed

  • Actually the intro rather makes sense you know, all the lightnings striking Tardis now that we saw Silence can shoot lightning bolts and they were the one who made Tardis explode...

  • @utkucavalier They didn't make the tardis expolde, they were trying to prevent such a thing. We still don't know who did it

  • wow i can believe it but can somebody tell me that the red cloud wormhole was the heat section that something corrupted space and time and even the blue cloud of the wormhole section is being covered of time lightnings and time electricity

  • I always thought it was cool how the DW turn into the Tardis.

  • Comment removed

  • haha retardis

  • @drwhostudio very mature

  • the windmill thing at the end, i saw in a shop, it was £6, I might buy it.... lol

  • I got chills.

  • @MrJeanjacquesdaniel Well thats utter bullshit mate, I dont even have nay videos, the ones on my wall are all ones I like. Your a bullshitter.

  • 30 personnes vont être EXTERMINER !

  • @Haldar317 ETERMINATION

  • GERONIMO

  • The red bit looks like its flying through a fatty artery :-)

  • @MrJeanjacquesdaniel What a cunt.

  • @TheOnComingStorm121 Well said!

  • Delia Derbyshire's theme was the best, but Series 5 was both Awesome *and* funny, and not overly dramatic like other episodes.

  • The wormhole and lightning in the opening credits is boss.

  • @Victo1678 It's impossible to have lightning in space...

  • @jjoeshaw nope, not in some places where there is matter, and where it's movements creates electrical fields. and this is not space. it's more like a wormhole.

  • @Victo1678 Its called a Time vortex

  • @Victo1678 its the time vortex not a wormhole

  • The only thing is I like in this intro is the TARDIS turning out from "DW" :D

    That's pretty awesome.

  • @MrJeanjacquesdaniel *Burps in MrJeanjacquesdaniel's face, puts his head through a wall and calls him a dick muncher*

  • @MrJeanjacquesdaniel Dont spam then. I know you weren't asking me, but I'm telling you anyway. Oh and learn to swear ass fucker.

  • @MrJeanjacquesdaniel If you're a spammer then why are you coming on a video about matt smith.

  • any tutorials or templates for this, looking to make one

  • I got the best feeling in my chest when I first saw this. I think it could be described as the ultimate nerd-gasm.

  • I like this opening sequence I think it suits for a welcome change. I'm not saying the last one was bad I enjoyed it. The last one screamed to me "Get ready for advanture" but one says to me more "Something spooky gonna happen".

  • The best blended intro using music and animation.

The lightings, then the plunge into fire and then the main title makes a perfect marriage. Brilliant indeed.

The only thing missing is David Tennant name as the doctor.

    Oh well, allons-y!

  • There's only one problem with this. In the series the windows have a white tint, yet in the titles, they have a yellow tint. But still a great title sequence for a great show.

  • Why can't Steven Moffat make all his episodes like the Eleventh Hour? If he scrapped the complicated shit and made them all like this one here Doctor Who would be so much more popular.

  • @TsoLan1 I like it being complicated. The Doctor is a very smart ALIEN so it should be pretty complicated but the most f-ed up think is that in the end it all makes sense

  • @LuckeMasse Yh, but your a fan arnet u. whilst you might like it complicated, parents and small children must hate it.

  • It's funny how a lot of new Dr. Who fans came here because of MLP. (Myself included, great series they both are.)

  • ringtone<333

  • Reminds me a lot of Sherlock. No wonder, it's the same writer. :)

  • They ruined this brilliant theme with the stupid amy clip in front of it. WHAT THE HECK?? ITS NOT AMY'S SHOW AND THE DOCTORS NOT A FAIRYTALE. EVERY TIME THEY PLAY IT ONE OF TEDESCUCCI'S KITTENS CLIMB BACK UP MY BUTT AND FERMENT AND DIE.

  • @pjrg1919 What Amy clip are you talking about? I don't see anything wrong with this video. Or are you referring to another episode?

  • Comment removed

  • @tiagoversalike In the new season. With the "When I was a little girl..." segment before the open credits. It's pretty lame. I hope they get rid of it next season. Completely unnecessary.

  • @ThunderStorm8 It's put in because a whole new crowd of people in the US are tuning in to watch Doctor Who on a Saturday for the first time and a lot of them won't know what it is just to let them know what the story was they added the "When I was a little girl..." Section we don't have it in Britain because most British (50-75%) watch Doctor Who already American ratings went from (20-70%)

  • @Ben78177 Not every episode has that intro, Ive seen almost every episode now of every season and I live in Florida. Ive been watching bbc america for about 15 or so years now. Its an awesome series. Still Im just rambling but my point here is yes it is repetitive and anoying after a while. But great intro music. What I want to know is why cant you hear the lightning strikes in the fist intro?

  • @AnAngryWolpack screw s4's music, it wasn't spooky or sci-fi enough

  • @riaminal Spooky or "sci-fi" enough aren't what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be EPIC. And it always has been.

  • @ThunderStorm8 sounds epic to me...

  • Didn't like it when I first heard it...but now it's my favourite of them all. Love the lightening bolts smashing into the TARDIS! And, it may sound silly, but I swear this theme is perfect for the 11th Doctor - it seems to in some bizarre way reflect his personality.

  • 0:16 That part NEVER GETS OLD!

  • oh i love the beginning part.. it's so dramatic!

  • anyone know the font of the names in the titles.

  • theres one thing you can't beat, and thats the UK with their supernatural/alien shows

  • i know loads of people like this new intro but i really don't like the bit at the begining

  • Badass Tardis flip at the start of the credits is badass!

  • if your a REAL who fan you would not care what the intro and the person playing the dr is like as long as dr who stays on tv i don't care how it changes it will always my my number 1 tv show of all time better than all these crap talent and reality shows

  • @BossRoss999

Well said. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @BossRoss999 truer words were never spoken throughout time.... and relative dimensions in space

  • @BossRoss999 Aaactually I disagree, if you're a REAL... er... "Whovian"... No, that sucks. If you're a REAL Doctor Who fan, then you'll remember how cool the theme was back when William Hartnell and Tom Baker were the doctor, and you'll greatly, GREATLY appreciate how Matt Smith's theme changed from Tennant's and Eccleston's

  • @BossRoss999 It will always been my #1 Tv show because no matter which one it is, the actors who portray the Doctor always make him both look like a hero and a babbling idiot at the same time. If that isn't good character development, I don't know what is.

  • i love how with each season the music gets more dramatic

  • You know I never liked this at first but its pretty epic with the lightning and suck and the new music.

  • The new logo looks bloody epic.

  • since when did the time vortex have lightning? lol jw

  • High pitched whine = Shit just got real

  • the first series i watched was series 5 with the eleventh doctor, but i started on series 4 and i dunno which sequence i like better (with the TARDIS doing the awesome vortex switch). plus tennant is freaking amazing. oh and by the way theres a dot com site called i watch doctor who (one word) where you can watch everything.

holy crap, that sounded like spam.

  • @mcridiculose i know yeah iwatchdoctorwho is amazing i have watched nearly every single Dt episode on it

  • If I only had a TARDIS...

  • Love this new intro. And when the TARDIS gets hit by lighting a 2nd time and flips, I could just imagine hearing the Wilhelm scream.

  • This...is so f*cking awesome.

  • the best season yet.

  • BEST credits yet! I think I like the music from the previous season better though...

  • If you look at the Doctor Who logo turning into the TARIDS closely in these credits, it's actually on fire! (I had to cheat and use Sony Vegas to zoom in on it XD)

  • @CowboyHobo No it's not. That's the vortex playing tricks on you

  • @armalarm hmmm, NOO! CURSE YOU TIME VORTEX! (Yah, I'm a little strange... :P)

  • @armalarm look up doctor who tardis on fire titles the first result shows proof

  • We want this opening in 3D xD!!!

  • @Banzaiwarriorr 3D gives me a headache.

  • No doubt my favourite titles of Doctor Who of all time :) It feels awseme when your whole family is just sat watching the episode with you and the EPIC TUNE with the lightning kicks off and youre thinking FUCK YEAH BEING A FAN ROCKS!! :P

  • So if the Tardis somehow got destroyed and then rebuilt, would that make it the Re-Tardis?

  • @blackkakari I LMFAO so hard at that comment! XD

  • @blackkakari ........... no just no

  • @blackkakari It /has/ been destroyed and rebuilt. more than once.

  • I started watching Dr. Who a week ago, I am obsessed with it.

  • @Dstorm20xx Where have you been for the past few years? Good for you though!

  • @Dstorm20xx Welcome to the club xD

  • @OncomingStorm1234 I agree with you 100% :)

  • I'd be scared shitless of all that. OH MY GOD WHAT'S GOING ON? IT THAT LIGHTNING AHH WE'RE UPSIDE DOWN I"M GONNA BE SICK OH NOES WAAAHHHH *Barfs*

  • Hmmm, tennantfan 1. I wonder which Doctor he likes?

  • I didn't like this theme at first but it really grew on me through out the season.

  • Not as good as the old one for sure, but eh it ok. Too kiddish

  • I was terrified coming up to the titles, I was thinking over and over "They're just gonna re-hash the same boring titles we've had from 2005 I just know it, and have the same crap theme, oh GOD!"

Then...as soon as the first lighting bolt slammed into the TARDIS flying through the Baker-esk vortex, with an AWESOME theme...I just leant back, folded my arms..and said 'F**k Yeah...'

  • @TheOnComingStorm121 You too, huh? When it did that intro bit at 00:02, I thought it was gonna be the same theme AGAIN, but, I digress, this theme is my fave.

  • @TheOnComingStorm121 OMG me too and btw in all of the forums im register im TheOncomingStorm if you see me lol

  • @TheOnComingStorm121 I liked the old theme. . .

  • @TheOnComingStorm121 seriously these titles are good but the old titles are just BETTER my opinion. Anyways crap theme how in the world was them old theme CRAP! THE OLD THEME WAS AMAZING

  • @Mrazmatmahmood Because it was overly orchesteral, lost the otherworldly feel the theme has to have and also was too lazy to make it's own melody, so it just recycled the Derbyshire version.

  • @TheOnComingStorm121 didnt we all.....

  • Well...I've changed my mind!I still prefer David Tennant's titles, but now I like them...Oh,and Matt Smith isn't so awful as a doctor...I think victory of the Daleks and Beast Below are awful, but it's OK!!!

  • UCB...as oblivious until after little lot they are, I love those little baby guys. University of British Columbia.... Commandeer one today.

    :O someone change the baby...

  • WHATEVER... WE RULE THIS UNIVERSE. Cute though, "2 became 1" Matt met Steve, and there's a Matt Smith. Guess it defined him too. Anyway, back to real-World.

"Australia and their laser beam teleport?". We were talking about this , finally, and they can't beat Time-Space travel on a budget of $620 , dodging cops, and taking punches to the head. Screw YOU and your "Second coming of MY stolen giant laser" Australia...

It's in the surveiallance reports. "The moving finger writes...."

  • How does Matt Smith not sh*t himself when he hears that music playing, then the TARDIS, THEN his name comes on the screen as the Doctor? ... I'd shit a kitten, man... no doubt. Every single time... shit a kitten.

By the end of the season, I'd have an entire litter of stinky kittens.

Could I wash them? Yes... sure... but some things just don't wash out.

  • @tedescucci Thats just beautiful.

  • @tedescucci Could I have one of your kittens? :D

OH MY GOSH WAIT. Would your kittens have bow ties and fezzes?!

  • goes with matt smiths whacky style

  • how did you record this

  • This is cool...it goes more with Matt's doctor character as well...like when the TARDIS gets hit by lightning but it still bumbles along :L

  • 1. Tom Baker
