I´ve been Hearing Bruces´s music since the eighties. Seems to me he gets even better year after year. But, this song is special with deep lyrics... - "Guiding us cross to another river on the other side..."This is the best part of this tune, ´cause he makes his voice lingers in a deep verse. Thanks for posting it.
i cant explain just how much of a legend bruce is to me, and my dad, we absaloutely love him. he has an epic voice and brilliant lyrics, full respect to him and his band (Y) you're a legend bruce, always (Y)
ok,....Springsteen is great n all, but why is he such a dumbass liberal?!!! Listen to his lyrics,.......that aint a "Liberal" POV !! Thats a constitutional conservative AMerican POV !! Bruce! WTF !!
why.because you have to be out of your fucking mind to be a neo nut conservitive and that explains pallin the dumbest moron ever to run for vice pres never thought i;d hear someone dumber than bush well i was wrong
questa notte berro' dalle acque di lei per calmare la mia sete e lascero' che siano gli angeli a preoccuparsi di cio' che porta con se ogni desiderio...che dire di piu'......
I don't know why everyone was so critical of his non E St. Band stuff...it was good...granted it was a shock that he broke away from the band but still...you can't go against this stuff just for that reason
Grew up on this and another of his Album. 16 now, and I can't say I ever got over this song. I really do thank my dad for playing these all day in the car. Truly an incredible artist he was.
Seriousley, these two albums are possibly his best! Amazing how forgotton they are! I was lucky enough to see this tour at Wembley as a 10 year old! (my parents took me! lol)
I love this song. My grandfather use to listen to it all the time when I was younger, and now everytime I hear it I think about him. Beautiful song, one of Springsteen's best!
Bruce will always have the image of a working class guitar hero, and I guess that's OK with him. But it is this kind of songs that really separates him from most of the other rockicons. Beautiful song. This is what he's best at. Intimate songwriting. The atmosphere in this one is just breathtaking. Love it and hate it, because it makes me so sad. But tha's why he makes the cadillac ranch kind of songs as well. To get over it, rock on and drink a whole lot of beer.
That's just it. Springsteen's music will go to certain depths, and then come rocking back out of them. It embraces the spectrum of a lived human life.
I absolutely agree. Of the two albums human touch and lucky town, this was the best by far and lost now. Bruce had some of the tenderest love songs, maybe his rough edge makes them difficult for some to appreciate.
this song's fuckin good.

Not a big fan of this song. Almost sounds like an offbeat version of the epic "meeting across the river"
