  • this song's fuckin good.

  • A beautiful and haunting performance by-

    Bruce Springsteen- vocal, guitar

    Mark Isham- trumpet

    Roy Bittan- keyboard

    Doug Lunn- bass

    Kurt Wortman- drums

  • With every wish, comes a thirst...

  • live long bruce...

  • Like coming home......

  • Bruce hogged up all the talent in the Universe.

  • Bruce is my favourite poet.

  • this is one of my favourite song of bruce. it reminds me of Dorain..

  • this is such a great song!!! lyrics and music only Bruce can create these magic moments.

  • I´ve been Hearing Bruces´s music since the eighties. Seems to me he gets even better year after year. But, this song is special with deep lyrics... - "Guiding us cross to another river on the other side..."This is the best part of this tune, ´cause he makes his voice lingers in a deep verse. Thanks for posting it.

  • remind me to thunder road

  • i cant explain just how much of a legend bruce is to me, and my dad, we absaloutely love him. he has an epic voice and brilliant lyrics, full respect to him and his band (Y) you're a legend bruce, always (Y)

  • Super song! greetings from Holland.

  • epic song, bruce springsteen, you're a legend. always

  • Not a big fan of this song. Almost sounds like an offbeat version of the epic "meeting across the river"

  • Bruce's most under-appreciated song...

  • well said.....

    How brilliant are the lyrics

  • PERFECTION

  • Por vida.

  • the boss yesterday today tomorrow and forever

  • THE BEST!

  • ok,....Springsteen is great n all, but why is he such a dumbass liberal?!!! Listen to his lyrics,.......that aint a "Liberal" POV !! Thats a constitutional conservative AMerican POV !! Bruce! WTF !!

  • why.because you have to be out of your fucking mind to be a neo nut conservitive and that explains pallin the dumbest moron ever to run for vice pres never thought i;d hear someone dumber than bush well i was wrong

  • @934johno HAHA! Glad to know I pissed off a booger eating, bleeding heart,pro-gay marriage, fag such as yerself. Happy New Year!

  • dude why did u have to write this....leave music and politics seperate...ur justing ruining it..

  • Whatever.....Springsteen should take your advice, or I wouldn't have made that comment. Besides who are you? The YOUTUBE monitor ? Grow up.....

  • none better

  • questa notte berro' dalle acque di lei per calmare la mia sete e lascero' che siano gli angeli a preoccuparsi di cio' che porta con se ogni desiderio...che dire di piu'......

  • eases intyo greatness///muted horn...fhe shit

  • With every wish.... so cool the ending there. So much hope.

  • I don't know why everyone was so critical of his non E St. Band stuff...it was good...granted it was a shock that he broke away from the band but still...you can't go against this stuff just for that reason

  • easies into greatness on that muted sax...many onleashed gems awaiting, tracks had several

  • this isn't on tracks, its human touch

  • just amazing..:)

  • The Most I listen this album the more I like It, My top of songs:

    - Wish I were Blind

    - With Every Wish

    - Man´s Job

  • Grew up on this and another of his Album. 16 now, and I can't say I ever got over this song. I really do thank my dad for playing these all day in the car. Truly an incredible artist he was.

  • WAS ?

    he STILL IS !!!!

  • i really like Springsteen's songs..all was so meaningful,,,i love Bruce Springsteen 4ever...and this song was one of top list..=)

  • A lyrical God..Awesome.

  • This is just perfect - only Springsteen can create a song like this.

  • This song has such a good philosiphy, classic springsteen :)

  • wow, i thought i was the only only one to think it's one of his best and most forgotten.

  • and what about me? I even didn't know this song. Discovered it last week and played it allready a hundred times. It is a masterpiece.

Would be nice if he would sing this the 30 of may in Holland. I'll be there.

  • Seriousley, these two albums are possibly his best! Amazing how forgotton they are! I was lucky enough to see this tour at Wembley as a 10 year old! (my parents took me! lol)

  • one gem on a not-that-bad album... love this!

  • ..though my heart's grown weary and more than a little bit shy... Understatement of all time to say that verse doesn't strike a chord.

  • best album ever

  • this is one of my favorite songs ever. he writes such good songs to be nostalgic to.

  • One of his very best.

  • This is one of my favs.

  • I love this song. My grandfather use to listen to it all the time when I was younger, and now everytime I hear it I think about him. Beautiful song, one of Springsteen's best!

  • one of my favorite songs!!! 5/5

  • why doesnt he play this live???????????

  • Bruce will always have the image of a working class guitar hero, and I guess that's OK with him. But it is this kind of songs that really separates him from most of the other rockicons. Beautiful song. This is what he's best at. Intimate songwriting. The atmosphere in this one is just breathtaking. Love it and hate it, because it makes me so sad. But tha's why he makes the cadillac ranch kind of songs as well. To get over it, rock on and drink a whole lot of beer.

  • That's just it. Springsteen's music will go to certain depths, and then come rocking back out of them. It embraces the spectrum of a lived human life.

  • love this song...;]

  • this song is the most underrated song of bruce

    i like it :)

  • I absolutely agree. Of the two albums human touch and lucky town, this was the best by far and lost now. Bruce had some of the tenderest love songs, maybe his rough edge makes them difficult for some to appreciate.

  • takes me back to my childhood days along the river near my grandfather's house. the world was ours and we thought we would never get old.

  • i love this song to bits, think of the melodicts in this song, so amazing. my dad youse to put me to bed in this song

  • this is one of the most overlooked of Bruce's songs. Those two albums had lots of forgettable tunes, this was not one of them.

  • excelent lyrics. It's too bad that there's no real video for this song. That trumpet is also magnific...Thanks for this

  • You're welcome.

  • @g4bri3l77 :: My sentiments exactly. Every gem the Boss has ever spouted are worth their weight in gold..!

  • i love this song so much, where can i get the lyrics?

  • Thank you for your comment. I have posted the lyrics as well. Please check under "About This Video"

  • thank you so much autumnwind99! i think this song is the most underrated song of bruce, the lyrics are so great! now i understand every word!!!

  • You're welcome.
