I played tube -- specifically a Miraphone -- in jr. hi, and a so-so sousaphone in high school. It was always a secondary instrument for me, with violin as primary. The only thing I still play is guitar, really. A musical dilettante... and yes, when I practiced I was as good as this guy.

The one thing I love about this band is the fact they treat the piccolo trumpet like a hot clarinet you know? I mean I thought it was one at first but then I see what it was!

That horn does look like a Miraphone 186, but that design is so widely used, it could be a score of models.

That is a miraphone...i believe a model 186...He is a great tuba player! Chris Kornegay, middle school band director at Paris High School in Paris, Texas. Took a few lessons from him my junior year last year. He has really good teaching qualities!
