  • Большое спасибо!

  • Heartbreakingly beautiful. All women understand this song. Any possibility of getting lyrics in Russian? Thank you.

  • You certainly know how to make a person

    weep.

  • Thanks, my friend.

  • The song is so amazing. I play it on the piano very often since I was a child, and now it is the first time for me to hear a choir singing it. Thank you very much for uploading it! Have a wonderful day & lots of greetings from Germany!

  • Vielen Dank für Ihre Ansage. Geniessen Sie es.

  • Are you sure your not mixing this up with Scarlet Sarafan? Or are they both the same thing?

  • I have never heard about scarlet sarafan. The song here I have always found as "Red sarafan". Anyway , your comment is welcomed. I will figure out about the scarlet one.Thanks.

  • In older Russian, красный (red) used to be more or less a synonym of красивый (beautiful). In this song, the dress is obviously beautiful. So red or scarlet isn't really an issue.

Oh, and remember the beautiful/red square in the centre of Moscow?

  • Very beautiful harmonious song ...I wish we would be exposed to such beautiful singing more in general public, what a pity that only american culture seems to be permiating the scene of arts in general- in North America.

  • You are absolutey right. Thanks for your kind words.

  • Dear Cesar, this is wonderful! Thank you..

  • Спасибо, Марина.

  • It seems like MOST Russians can sing EXCELLENTLY!

  • Awesome, just awesome. I wished to see the performers live, but these images are beatiful! Indeed, its one of the few musics of the Alexandrov Choir featuring women I've ever listened.

    Thanks for uploading, 1952410!

  • Many thanks, my friend.

  • Beautiful - excellent accompaniment and harmonies. Thanks for posting..

  • Thanks, ideed.

  • This is very lovely, both in sight and sound. I love the bright colors of the folk art style paintings and the little doll lady dressed in red.

  • Thanks ,windonthewater.

  • Cposibo za horoshi angliski perevod, tovorishch!!!

  • Sarafan is a traditional, long, shapeless, jumper costume, worn by Russian women and girls in folk dances.

  • What is a sarafan?

Thank you for the lyrics.VERY NICE.

I LOVE RUSSIAN MUSIC TOO which I had never heard before until the nice people who wanted better international relations posted it here on You Tube.

    Thanks for the music!

  • I don't recall the Red Army Chorus featuring women soloists although they have many talented women soldiers in the chorus.

I wish someone would translate this and tell me what it says because it is beautiful!

  • I have provided the lyrics. Please click on "more information".The words are also beautiful. Please let me know if you have reached the text.

  • this is not the Red Army Choir, its the "National Academic Choir (not sure of the exact title) led by Sveshnikov

  • I think that Mr.195240 makes a mistake about the original source. It seems to me that this recording derives not form "Red Army Choir", but from "USSR ACADEMIC RUSSIAN CHORUS" directed by A. Sveshnikov.

I have a LP and CDs of this Chorus, which were sold in 80' and 90'from "МЕЛОДИЯ", including others famous russian folk songs, for exemple, "Down Mother Volga", "Slender Rawn-Tree", "Evening Beells", etc.

In my opinion this chorus is one of the best chorus in the world.

  • Thanks for your information.

  • ...........An exclusive imagery of holyness, figurative and pure arousment.Indeed.The voice is so enigmatic and real,it creates a gestic vibe of glamorous mind of reverbiaziation, a real ambiance of gracefulness.Thank you for sharing it.....peace and beauty....!Five star.

  • thanks, my friend.
