@Anon1821 ... album can add further depth by introducing an overarching story or theme which lends further poignancy to individual songs and ties them together so you feel you are experiencing something more than a single hit can deliver. Okay, for this you have to be rather patient I admit. If you're not, you can always save your money and just buy singles, especially with i tunes and what not about these days.

KISS is a perfect example of this shit. Whether you are a fan or not, KISS was never about the music. KISS was about the makeup and the image, just like how lady gaga is now. @playaeyez17 I personally am a fan of albums as well. The majority of the albums on my iPod came out before I was born. The idea of a full album isn't entirely gone now though. For example MGMT's latest album was envisioned to be experienced as a full album. The opening track has even been compared to Pixies. Not a comparison I necessarily see but I still enjoy the album.
A band from Boston that can perform a surf song better that most Southern California bands can. Amazing melody.... haunting as well as romantic and relaxing. Too bad Pixies didn't get much U.S. airplay recognition.
@indysc i'd say more just alternative. It's really tricky with the pixies, well i just hope we can agree on one thing, they're an amazing band. and i love them.
