I was rejecting who I was to make my family and community happy, even though I was not turned on, and actually grossed by the experiences. When I finally accepted who I was, I was able to fall in love and marry a wonderful man, and move on with my life.

You should talk to your friends about why they came out after bedding women or getting married. I dated several women and had sex with two of them. I was rejecting who I was to make my family and community happy, even though I was not turned on, and actually grossed by the experiences. When I finally accepted who I was, I was able to fall in love and marry a wonderful man, and move on with my life.

People don’t always understand what it means to “come out” I didn’t come out till I was 27. I was raised in a conservative community, and did all I could to change, and reject who I am. After coming to terms with myself, the task of coming out, can be scary, but very liberating, not to hide who you are. Good luck with the drink, and don’t feel a need to latch on to the first nice person you meet.

I ended up having a mental breakdown I couldnt take the stress of being straight when I knew I wasnt.... its harder to be what your not then be happy. my dad found out when I was 12 I had a gf.. he was an alchohalic/christian and it did not go well... I just came out to my mom yesterday[my dads been out of pic for years] and shes just like "oh ok" as if it was nothing I felt so much better.

There are about a dozen studies showing homosexuality to be a natural immutable quality. If it was a learned trait, it would then have the ability to change, and decades of failure by groups such as Exodus and Narth, show this is not possible.

Technically, lesbians are 'gays' as well, with the major difference being that lesbians are women who like other women in a romantic/sexual way, while male homosexuality involves two men in a romantic/sexual relationship. The underlying principle of homosexuality remains the same; male or female both 'gay' and 'lesbian' relationships involve two people of the same gender in a relationship. The desire to legislate morality, and social values and norms, has been the motive for much legislation. However, I think there is much to be said about teaching our children to be more respectful and considerate of others; and this doesn't take legislation, just good instruction.
