The sound track you have playing when the loco is coming out of the tunnel does not match the speed of your model. The frequency of the piston "pushes" are too high.
@SavageJim01 actualy they seem not too out of whack on an articulate. each turn of the drivers produces 4 chuffs. now since ya have two sets of drivers, itll sound out of rythm.
@Kleman09 if he would have countered the rear set of drivers 45 degrees then it would be spot on for the 8 chuffs per revolution like it was showing in the video.
Funny thing about the Alleghennies is the fact that they weren't operated by the C&O in the way they were designed to oeprate. They were designed for high speed frieght service with extra train size in mind. However, the C&O saw coal drag engines instead. They were heavy, but were never fully tested. Therefore it can still be argued that they could out perform a big boy.
Wow !!! What an awesome layout you must have. What little we can see in the video tells me your entire layout is superb !!! And, yes, the engine is magnificient !!! Can I find such a engine in an HO scale?
That's a very nice touch with the sound. Also, your scenery there does look excellent, that's one of the most realistic looking HO scale clips I've ever seen. Great work on the track especially. I assume that's the Rivarossi Allegheny? Beautiful model. I've heard that the tsunami heavy steam decoder suits it well if you want decent sound for it on your layout :)
I would do anything to have a huge model railroad at some point. Right now I just don't have the money or space to invest in one, but I've always wanted to build one.
Darn!! if it wasn't for that painted scenery to the right, it would seem like it's a real video of non-smoking allegheny! That's really how much more realism real sounds can make!
