If you erect both a vertical & a horizontal antenna then simultaneously feed each antenna identically with either (1/4wave) 9 feet or (1.25wave) 45 feet of RG-11 75ohm coax - (multiplied by the velocity factor of the coax, usually between 70% to 85%, so it will be closer to about 7 feet or 36 feet) to a '' T '' connector, then regular 50ohm coax the rest of the way to the rig, you won't have anywhere near as much fading, plus the SWR will still be close to 1:1 for transmit.

@29pu04 no mate, when i got it from the states it just has 40 channels am /usb/ lsb , i dont think they come with fm as this is old radio , i got the power suply changed and got the extra channels fitted also ,
