I honestly don't know and you do realize after watching the video that this version of the laptop is way out of date. The newer versions of this lappy are much better. Not to many pay attention on this video for the computer specs so just making sure you saw that it's running a not so hot video card to todays standards.
Good luck.....I do believe mine would run it but i don't know. I don't game on this lappy.....I have a fat gaming rig i build last year.....Multi-monitor eyefinity rig. Check videos if you want. This video got so popular back in the day that I get so many comments about the newer versions of this lappy that I really don't even know the hardware specs of the newer ones but this one with a 130gt did very well so the newer ones must do great.
You realize that this lappy is 2 years old. I was getting a solid 30-40fps online with cod4 any current version of this lappy will do better then mine did with the Gt130m

Hi i ve got the same acer as you differences are in our graphics cards mine is gt240m and RAM i ve got 4gb ddr2. My problem is that i have l really lower FPS than you in all games you are playing in this video. Is possible that gt240m too worse or is that in those RAM memories ?? Most people had problems with the GT240m when it first came out because the drivers were terrible. That and windows 7. I don't know. ddr2 ram shouldn't make much difference if any really. I don't know why you have ddr2 i think you must have ddr3 ram at 1066mhz but maybe not. Either way I would say just make sure your not running a ton of background services and clean up your computer and try updating your graphics drivers.
@streetridaz No i have ddr2, dont worry i know. Also i have always set on the turbo mode in tune up (if you know it and i dont know better program for cleaning and keeping my system ). Only one program is running on my back and thats just the tune up nothing else. I tried set it off but nothing changed. So i suppose thats in that GPU. 130 is better than 240 about 10 - 15 %. What about overclocking has it sense??
No the 240 is a better card then the 130. Very small amount though. I don't have a clue why your laptop has ddr2 if you have a Aspire 5739g. Sounds more like your using a Packard or something. Anyway. I don't overclock laptops. They aren't meant to handle heat increases like that. I only overclock my desktop gaming rig because I have contol over then temps in there.Check graphics drivers if they are under 186.26 then thats probably your problem

You might be able too. The graphics card that comes in that lappy I believe is a G105m. It's a little on the weak side but maybe if you put all the settings on low at 1024x768 you might be able to run it decent.
The graphics card shows in benchmark tests to be considerably slower. So I would say no. The Nvidia Geforce GT 130m scored a 5154 in 3dmark06.The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 scored a 3358 in 3dmark06. So no. Everything is the same but the ATI is a weaker card.
LOL, you see the video don't you. Thats this laptop playing games. No it doesn't damage the laptop to play games. The guy at the shop told you that the Acer Aspire 5732Z doesn't play games good because it doesn't. It' not ment to play games. It has not dedicated graphics card. This video isn't of a 5732Z its a 5739G. This lappy was made with playing games in mind. The 5732Z wasn't.

I don't think so the only versions of the 5741 i can find specs on are budget laptops. They have small processors and no dedicated graphics cards. So no not a good gaming laptop.

Get "CCleaner" and scan the reg. What Geforce drivers are you using? If your anything above 186.xx then your drivers should be o.k. are you running Win7?
I have the one with the GT 240M graphics card and my games (unreal 3) don't run anywhere near that smooth even at medium settings. I have it set to defrag every weds and don't really have many system hogging programs running.

Hi! I have a similar Acer notebook (Aspire 5935G-744G50MN). This laptop has a hybrid GPUs (Integrated Mobile Intel VGA + similar Nvidia GF GT130m 1GB). Your laptop have similar hybrid technology too? I ask them, because not easy to install the nvidia driver in the hybrid laptop. You have to download a modded .inf file for your driver from the laptopvideo2go, but for the 197.16 driver not released yet. How you installed the 197.16 driver? At now, I using the original 187.45 from the Acer Support.
You don't have to use the modded acer video drivers. I just went to nivida and downloaded the lastest drivers and damn they work nice! I used to be locked out of nvidia when downloading drivers from there it won't let me install the updated ones and then one day it let me and i've been using regular gf drivers since. lol
What is your bios version? If is it possible, when you update to the newest bios, and after than, the original nvidia drivers installed correctly? Your machine is hybrid, too?

Not that I don't love you constantly spamming me with the same questions but your right. I was thinking of the benchmark from my desktop. On my laptop i re-did the benchmark and I'm getting an average of 28 fps. Sorry for the run around. I just always do the tests on my desktop too and I'm getting well over 35 fps on ultra on my desktop. So yes I'm not getting 35 fps on my lappy.
The lowest I have ever seen it drop was 28fps farcry 2 is really well optimized. Sorry bro your doing something wrong. I don't know what to tell you. Are you playing at the same resolution i'm playing at. 1366x768 or do you have a better screen on your lappy. That is the only other thing I can think of.
lol no its just to dangerous to overclock laptops. They are designed for a specific heat and to raise temp is just asking to warp your board. No my is stock. All I can say is run your games in dx9 mode and keep your memory and cpu footprint low. clean your system and defrag to make sure you file system is running good. Otherwise i haven't a clue why people aren't getting the same numbers i am. my games run so smooth.
I'm getting over 35fps with far cry 2 and 25fps with shift and borderlands. I've also just uploaded a battlefield Bad Company 2 video and i'm getting over 30 fps on that.
The only thing I can think of is those of you having problems are running a bunch of shitty programs in the background that are effecting your performance. Shit like mcafee, incrdimail and update software and hp, acer bloatware.
Im not very good with technical terms but i was wondering if this laptop is good enough to play the games you have listed. Ive tested crysis on it but it was the demo. I could play on Medium at 30+ fps and high with 15 fps. Also could you give me any recommendations as in what games to buy? Thanks
are you on a windows 7 machine? the Window7 and the hardware aren't working very well together. With VIsta 64 premium and geforece 186.xx drivers this lappy is very fluient in games.
its the software that tells your graphics card how to use the hardware. Drivers can make the biggest difference in the world. My lappy when i first got it was on 179.xx drivers and I couldn't even play crysis on medium. Then I got 186.81 drivers and i can play nicely on high. I haven't ever updated since because these drivers are so optimized.
It does , i tested , it but my laptop was defect was causing crashes and i replaced it with a toshiba satelite with a ati radeon hd 4650 and i5 proccesor wich are better at same price

yes, after 1 week of doing all that coulkd be done to repair it, i couldnt, and folowed experts software advices, i've took it back and changed it for a Toshiba Sattelite L505, Intel i5 cpu m 430 (score 2500, the p7450 had a score of 1500) , same 4 gb ddr3, ati radeon HD 5165 ( benchmark score 13500, the nvidia 240m had arround 12500) and all at same price :)

Thank you for uploading this video, I've just bought me a 5739-87G50mn, 2,53ghz 500GB. So its a bit quicker then yours ;) I'm glad to know that my laptop will easily run these games.
So to conclude. Acer repair are crap, the company is very very unhelpful and won't offer me a refund, replacement of even a temp. laptop till they can figure out how to fix it. There not nice people. Totally screwed over lol.
when you get your laptops, if your buying them, be careful and make sur eits working. I got this back in November 2009, and it started to hang up everytime any type of media was used including games. It would crash after about 30 seconds of loading the media. I sent it in 3 times and they sent it back each time claiming it was fixed.. it wasnt... im sending it off for a fourth time now. FYI im not the only one with this problem. Search google for aspire 5739g freeze.

Like the descripiton says in the video it is 64bit vista. I haven't noticed any difference between win7 and vista on my desktops other then somemore pretties added in win7. the small footprint is crap. were talking like 100-200 mb's at most. Other then that right now a lot of driver problems and software that isn't compatible.
@GreyHunter49 Windows 7 boots faster and has some really neat features. It has the speed of Windows XP with all the positive aspects of Vista, plus a variety of fresh features. Try to get a 64bit OS since it handles data better than a 32bit. 64bit was formerly exclusive for server use only, now its commercially available to the public.
i have the acer aspire 5738g-6335 with a ati mobility radeon hd 4570, i guess thats better than yours, maybe not, and a intel core 2 duo t6600 @ 2.2GHz, and i can only run crysis at 10FPS with the settings you gave??? i have to go all medium to get a playable FPS (13-22FPS)
ok so i checked the driver version (under device manager) and it is 8.670 and the divers on the acer website (i tried going to the ati website and it said to go there) and picked my laptop, and the right driver and the version was 8.632, should i roll back???

i read your comments and rolled back to 186.91 drivers from my 195.62 and did a before and after test with gothic 3 (very high settings) fps at the tutorial battle was 18-27 and after i rolled back 21-31 not a huge increase in my opinion could you test with your machines and tell me if there is a difference between other 186.xx drivers (btw .91 messed my saturation) i have the gt 240M version
I cant understand paying less than $1000 for a laptop. The 240m only gets ~23 fps on medium settings for Risen(a game used for rpg comparison), according to Notebookcheck. So you are already stuck playing at low settings with a new laptop!

for my specific laptop they have reverted back to the 179.xx something drivers and they are crap. I have the 186.xx something drivers and they work so much better then the 179.xx version.

i have the newest driver available (195.62). my system is a Packard Bell Lj65 with win vista 32bit, core2duo P8600 @2,4Ghz, 4GB ram and gt130m. the graphic options in the nvidia control panel are optimized for highest performance

I'm getting over 35fps with far cry 2 and 25fps with shift and borderlands. I've also just uploaded a battlefield Bad Company 2 video and i'm getting over 30 fps on that.

The only thing I can think of is those of you having problems are running a bunch of shitty programs in the background that are effecting your performance. Shit like mcafee, incrdimail and update software and hp, acer bloatware.

I have Aspire 5925G laptop
Intel core 2 duo T6600 2.2GHz, 800mhz FSB
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 1.7gb graphics card
3GB DDR3 RAM
and a 320gb HDD
Im not very good with technical terms but i was wondering if this laptop is good enough to play the games you have listed. Ive tested crysis on it but it was the demo. I could play on Medium at 30+ fps and high with 15 fps. Also could you give me any recommendations as in what games to buy? Thanks

are you on a windows 7 machine? the Window7 and the hardware aren't working very well together. With VIsta 64 premium and geforece 186.xx drivers this lappy is very fluient in games.

its the software that tells your graphics card how to use the hardware. Drivers can make the biggest difference in the world. My lappy when i first got it was on 179.xx drivers and I couldn't even play crysis on medium. Then I got 186.81 drivers and i can play nicely on high. I haven't ever updated since because these drivers are so optimized.

yes, after 1 week of doing all that coulkd be done to repair it, i couldnt, and folowed experts software advices, i've took it back and changed it for a Toshiba Sattelite L505, Intel i5 cpu m 430 (score 2500, the p7450 had a score of 1500) , same 4 gb ddr3, ati radeon HD 5165 ( benchmark score 13500, the nvidia 240m had arround 12500) and all at same price :)

So to conclude. Acer repair are crap, the company is very very unhelpful and won't offer me a refund, replacement of even a temp. laptop till they can figure out how to fix it. There not nice people. Totally screwed over lol.

when you get your laptops, if your buying them, be careful and make sur eits working. I got this back in November 2009, and it started to hang up everytime any type of media was used including games. It would crash after about 30 seconds of loading the media. I sent it in 3 times and they sent it back each time claiming it was fixed.. it wasnt... im sending it off for a fourth time now. FYI im not the only one with this problem. Search google for aspire 5739g freeze.

Like the descripiton says in the video it is 64bit vista. I haven't noticed any difference between win7 and vista on my desktops other then somemore pretties added in win7. the small footprint is crap. were talking like 100-200 mb's at most. Other then that right now a lot of driver problems and software that isn't compatible.

@GreyHunter49 Windows 7 boots faster and has some really neat features. It has the speed of Windows XP with all the positive aspects of Vista, plus a variety of fresh features. Try to get a 64bit OS since it handles data better than a 32bit. 64bit was formerly exclusive for server use only, now its commercially available to the public.

i have the acer aspire 5738g-6335 with a ati mobility radeon hd 4570, i guess thats better than yours, maybe not, and a intel core 2 duo t6600 @ 2.2GHz, and i can only run crysis at 10FPS with the settings you gave??? i have to go all medium to get a playable FPS (13-22FPS)

sounds like what I was getting before I updated the the 186.81 nvidia drivers. Have you tried updating your ATI drivers? also run it in dx9 mode.

ok so i checked the driver version (under device manager) and it is 8.670 and the divers on the acer website (i tried going to the ati website and it said to go there) and picked my laptop, and the right driver and the version was 8.632, should i roll back???

i read your comments and rolled back to 186.91 drivers from my 195.62 and did a before and after test with gothic 3 (very high settings) fps at the tutorial battle was 18-27 and after i rolled back 21-31 not a huge increase in my opinion could you test with your machines and tell me if there is a difference between other 186.xx drivers (btw .91 messed my saturation) i have the gt 240M version

I cant understand paying less than $1000 for a laptop. The 240m only gets ~23 fps on medium settings for Risen(a game used for rpg comparison), according to Notebookcheck. So you are already stuck playing at low settings with a new laptop!

I have it completely maxed out. I don't understand why you guys have problems. Like I said below .............If your using the 186.xx something nvidia drivers then you should be getting much better fps on games. Also Red Alert 3 I have no problem getting high water detail. I don't know why yours isn't. Seems to me everyone that is using a gt 130m is still using 179.xx something nvidia drivers which will for sure drop your performance on the gt 130m a ton. Update your drivers. What are ur specs?

i have the newest driver available (195.62). my system is a Packard Bell Lj65 with win vista 32bit, core2duo P8600 @2,4Ghz, 4GB ram and gt130m. the graphic options in the nvidia control panel are optimized for highest performance
