When I first tried rice paper, I had the feeling that I had been loosing my time before, because it is so different! You must learn now to control the amount of water in your brush, it is extremely important. Try to paint with very little water loaded in it. I used to deep the brush into water. Nothing worse than that. I have been engaged in Chinese painting since October 2007 (1 year and 3 months), but very relaxed. Maybe I paint during 1week and stop painting 2months. Take it easy, good luck!
Really not bad for the first try! I like the way you control the thickness of ink - darker in the front, and lighter on the back mountains, that's the right way to start. Good job!
