I agree, that note is almost impossible without a screamer trumpet, I applaud the player for his attempt. Things happen sometimes. I mean a really good example is the star wars opening, I cant remember which one it was, but the trumpet came in reaaaally flat on the first note, he/she was obviously a professional, and messed up. It happens to everyone.
@happysammish i only kno of one person that could hit that note flawlessly off the top of my head and that is Allen Vizzutti. i am a trumpet player myself and this guy is fricken amazing. check out "Allen Vizzutti and the Carnival of Venice" he is a master at the trumpet.
The trumpet note that was cracked so bad at the climax is a note higher than most trumpet players dream of playing consistantly. The fact that the note even half came out is impressive enough. The real blame should be placed on the director or song writer for putting that in. There is a reason why in the original bungie recording that strings, not trumpets, played that note.
true! and also not even professional orchestras get everything perfect. Its just human. Shit on soundtracks are edited over and over. On stage its a hit or miss. I played in concert band lol

@Theviperownzu My high school band has 3 or 4 players, including myself, who can consistently hit D's and E's, though F's and G's aren't usually pulled off during a performance/rehearsal, they're possible by one of our trumpets. However, I DON'T know what note they are trying to hit, so it's entirely possible that it's still beyond the expected range of a lead trumpet player.
Actually, the symphony just picks up the local musicians, so yes (professional), but every show is going to be a little bit different in quality because of the lack of practice.
Just disappointed, man. I was really hoping for a better quality production. And speaking of better quality productions, would you happen to know any? I'd really like to hear a better interpretation of my favorite video game scores, but, you know, without the missed notes.
