  • Everything the lady said in the opening sentences , Imagine how the people of Iraq feel

  • They flew them first-class to volunteer...thats what i call corporate irrisponsibility, then brag about it...and pay their employees .35cents above min wage.

  • @MTSchneiderful actually we flew coach. by the way.

  • If you really give for no reason but to help you don't brag about it and use it for advertision.Starbucks, committed to defending sexual harrassment with 16 year old employees by 24 year olds. What a stupid company. No more Starbucks for me!

  • bull shit i work for starbuck and they dont care about they partner any more they took personal days out, cutting benefict giving us bull shit schedule and u think iam goidn to be doing comunity service in they name fuck that i do it but in my name not starbuck name

  • I realy feel proud to be a starbucks partner even that here in mexico is a little diferent but we still be the same family

and to all the haters out there....come on. you cant say anything unless you experience it first hand.

  • That's Mary Jo ! She was my DM when Katrina hit! I am in Austin now...

  • 10,000 Sotre managers from Starbucks around the world come to New Orleans for a few days and help out around the city, trying to make it easier for the residents by putting their part into rebuilding and that is Exploiting Katrina??? You grab a bloody shovel, put on some boots and a hard-hat and get down there for a few days and then tell me we're exploiting katrina

  • @Cbpcan they flew them first class

  • Sweet! My store manager at 3:56 on the video, goooo hugo!!!!!!!! Store #4951 Boxgrove, Markham, Ontario Canada Woot woot!

  • see this is why i love working for starbucks .......its great to us partners and to the us

  • This is a great video! That person that said it seems its from the 1980s missing the point! Starbucks is a wonderful company! I will be drinking Starbucks Coffee until I die! Thank you Starbucks for doing all you do! I would also like to say how much I admire Starbucks for keeping to their word even in such a down ecomony! I would like to see another company do somthing close to this, in this down economy! Again thank you Starbucks I will pass the word!

  • Doing little? Helping build homes and recreational facilities helped a ton of people get their lives started once again. If anything; this was just the beginning of opening up people's eyes as to how bad it still is there.

  • I am sure it was a great event - but that video was like something out of the 1980s. Come on guys 10,000 starbucks employees participated in the event - and less than 4700 hits in a month. Media Storm and Starbucks should have done a whole lot better - IMHO

  • I'm proud to be a Starbucks customer! I not only like the coffee & products, I admire the company.

  • Imagine if every Fortune 500 Company were to do something like thisthe world would truly be a better place. Starbucks is big and they are using their size to contribute heavily to good causes. Im a customer for life!

  • This is something that I was a part of. I feel proud to know that I made a difference to someone in a big way.

  • Makes us proud to be partners :)

  • this makes me proud to be a partner (:

  • I have been to many leadership conferences in my professional career and I can honestly say that this has impacted me and the way I look at Starbucks for the rest of my life. Maybe Starbucks could have saved some money for the partners and bonuses. The question I ask, would that have made the same impact that the leadership conference made in New Orleans. It is no longer about "US" at Starbucks it is about making a difference in our community and connecting with others. THANK YOU Starbucks

  • I love my job. This made me shed a tear. <3 BARISTA PRIDE! :D

  • I'm proud to be a partner at Starbucks.

  • Good for Starbucks, wish more companies would take this kind of initiative

  • I was there.. The most amazing time of my life. Being able to help out a community so devastated. I wish we had time to do more. Thanks NOLA for the great experience.

  • However, in the end, Starbucks is just another company, a corporation. Just wanting to make money...

There were beyond thousands of dollars spent to FLY every store manager out to New Orleans for this conference, not to mention hotel fees. When they easily could have donated money, had the same impact, and still given the REAL partners (Who do all the REAL WORK) a holiday bonus, or something to boost morale, because it's so low right now, its incredible. Hours are basically cut in half...

  • Corneliousjd,

I get that you work hard. I get that hours have been cut. But let's not forget...sending money really isn't the way to make an impact in this world. Doing a good deed and helping our fellow humans is what separates us from the animal kingdom. Go forth and be kind...human-kind. If you truly feel that money is what Starbucks is "ALL" about, perhaps you should seek employment elsewhere. Just my two cents...

  • I'm not saying they're all about money. I don't mean it like that. I just don't fully understand the choices they make about how they spend money. Why are all managers being given new laptops, when employee's aren't even getting hours. I got 35+ hours a week, next week I have ZERO hours... How am I supposed to live, pay bills, pay my tuition. Partners of the company need help right now too... I wish Starbucks would help us as well...

  • The laptops aren't costing out of pocket cash for Starbucks.

  • Donating money alone is no guarantee something beneficial will be accomplished. Look at the untold billions of dollars wasted in the last eight years to supposedly keep Americans safe.

Starbucks is a competent forward looking company. Yes, the bottom line is always a factor. That does not diminish their outreach mission. True leadership is a rarity. True leadership with a mission to serve the public good is what this clip demonstrates. Responsible capitalism is possible. Good on Starbucks!

  • yeah why else are companys in business? Just to hang out? NO to take money and they are doing so and doing good things at the same time! And partners do not have to work on Holidays! They all volunteer their time! Also Starbucks knows not all familys celebrate the same holidays! So to some partners its just another day! And they are getting paid extra.

  • i love my job<3

  • Sbux you are a great role model for really walking the talk on CSR!

  • Awesome. What a wonderful example. That is a lot of work... and so worth it. ♥

  • <3 <3

  • Way to go Starbucks. That's one more reason I love you guys.

  • i love starbucks!

  • Bono coming out was hilarious lol.

  • that's nice! =]
