PAIN wasn't altogether a new idea even then, we just hadn't solidified the conditions. We'd all been flirting with greater conditions.
I'm used to needless/minor violations from watching Taz go to work >_____>
Tossing Seeds about with occassional OH. A favored old approach. Grown up Breeders are no longer so fearsome when you understand the situation well enough...abusing their Seeds for HP/Collisions, air grab infinites, camera abuse, etc. Lovely.
NOTE: After watching the old tactic of plume to bounce a Breeder, I feel compelled to mention that getting them off-screen then rolling towards them into quick T (Ascension) has a HIGH probability for success in setting up OH and air grabs. Its one of the newer approaches I've been using.
NOTE2: It would be nice to see you give run coverage with upgraded tactics (a contemporary showing of you doing PAIN)
On my latest PAIN run, I just walked right up to them and did an Ascension. It worked almost every time. But rolling into an Ascension is obviously more stylish than just walking up and doing it.
It's less about style than speed and the probability of success. Coming from off-screen keeps the chances of their reaction comprimising the lift rather low. Ascension out of a roll is faster than just doing it on its own. A quick T just as we have a quick t1.
~Going off-screen is good for controling the behavior of foes as you know. Though GoWII's Priests are assholes about it when they decide to rapidly summon back-to-back. What a bunch of faggots they can be...
Air-grab locks, OH locks, Ascension locks, even plume -> Ascension locks iirc. The list goes on. They were almost at the level of grunts as opposed to mini-bosses/major grunts.
Truth be told, nearly anything is 'broken' in our hands. Spells are ridiculously overpowered in CoO on easy with McKratos. AQ is overpowered on Easy with DO/GoW. ZF with its perks that you've revealed to few. SoD's launcher and PS.
Anything is at best "sort of balanced", in the hands of casuals. Except perhaps for the GoZ. They'd have to be blind not to notice the overpowered stuns.
I liked CW because it was strong and had happened to be 'reasonably priced' *cheap* for what it did if only against a SINGLE FOE. Having it cost nothing for failing to connect was a bonus. Then having it spread for bonus damage helped the curse along a tad further before auto-Armor breaking sealed the deal. It was god tier *also stuns*.
Efreet is possibly inferior to AQ by a little. Shitty range, probably less efficient, 'mash' pushes foes out of effective range, no knockbacks, etc.
I used to think that, but really the GoW2 Breeders are easy once you realize that the alternate Orion's Harpoon exists... It took the GoW community quite a while to discover it, and in the meantime poor bastards like me had to kill the Breeders under NUR+ conditions without the benefit of alt.OH collisions...
I'm surprised to hear you say that. As soon as I learned about Alt.OH, I was able to defeat the Breeders first time every time no matter what run I was doing (NUR+, GKTMNUR, etc.).
Nice. Though generally, yeah, alt.OH's miss in the breeder fight just before the 2nd Translator. Which is why we have to resort to grabs and even air grabs for collisions. Otherwise, it's a lot of grinding.
damn whats the song called?

You love his violations.
Grown up Breeders are hardly the threat that GoW2 Breeders are. GoW2 Breeders are almost as bad as the faggots.

I fucking love them.
~GoW1 Breeders...launchable...HA! HA! Oh exploitable...

Infinites everywhere in GoW1.
At least stuns weren't stupidly overpowered *CoO*.
BigVEE 2 years ago
LOL, stuns were insane in CoO. Once you got the GoZ, it was rape. The Sphinxes became a joke.
MrEmpirical 2 years ago
Morpheus' Beasts and Sphinxes... jokes indeed. Even without the GoZ, they weren't so tough.

GoZ - Most broken weapon EVAR!
The BoO should have held that title.
manojpj200 2 years ago
Should have...but the case turned out to be that it just had the one broken attack..
BigVEE 2 years ago
And it was broken even without cycle cancelling...
MrEmpirical 2 years ago
Had it been as full of RAPE as it was in the cutscenes, the weapon definitely would have been broken.
On that note, BotG, broken or not? Awesome offense versus shitty defense...
manojpj200 2 years ago
Its power is MAXIMUM. Still broken in our hands. In a casuals, it is sort of balanced...

True enough. LoD is practically pure shit though. Efreet is vanilla. Charon's Wrath is god tier concerning 'experimental' spells.

Efreet better than AQ?
CW was pretty cool. The 'No MP loss for misses' was a nice effect.

I was actually talking about Breeders as stand-alone enemies, i.e. with no other enemies around.
On the Alt.OH note, it doesn't help much really. In that Breeder fight, it tends to miss, and teh Breeders are able to glitch through it unhurt.
