  • To any Westerner who has ever stayed in a random Asian hotel due to business commitments......trust me....it aint that glamorous.......

  • Oh, Johansson.. Once i had crush on you by watching this film... 2003 bitches!!!

  • @medjohi

what in the movie even points to the japanese culture as inferior? come on, that's so far fetched, and i highly doubt sofia coppola even tried to do such a thing. i think you're missing the point. the movie is based around being "lost in translation," being stuck in a place that's completely different (not necessarily inferior). and *weird*=very strange=unusual or different--weird just means you haven't seen it b4. the connotation that *weird* is bad has nothing to do with the meaning

  • Critic Andrew Sarris sums it up well: "The result is a rarity, a grown-up romance -where- sexual facility -has been replaced- with emotional longing".

  • I agree with Mr. Andersoncouncil. This is a love story. It is so unconventional that trying to put what they felt and lived into words gets "lost in translation" (the title can be construed as many things, the romantic relationship between the characters, the feeling of being lost and alienated in their own lives and in the Japanese modern culture that surrounds them).

  • The way Japan is presented in this movie is sooo stereotypical.

they make japan and the japanese look weird so it attracts ignorant western morons.

I don't think this movie is boring, and I know what you're talking about when you guys say this film is inspiring and meaninful.

but i must say that those who say this film is amazing are stupid racists.

i was amazed to know that westerners still continue to portray other cultures as inferior and weird things.

  • @medjohi loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • @medjohi We're racist if we enjoyed the film? Say what you want about how Sofia Coppola portrays the Japanese culture. Truth is, she portrayed friendship and loneliness in this film better than any other filmmaker I've ever seen.

  • @medjohi umadbro? go eat some rice and play ddr.

  • Absolutely love the movie. Thumbs up for the film, but thumbs down for the song choice. Like, are you fucking kidding me? Pink? Haven't you heard the freaking soundtrack to Lost in Translation? Sophia and the creators of the movie obviously had taste. Sadly, this video doesn't. Just complete blasphemy to a well thought-out soundtrack.

  • I just really don't find Scarlett all that pretty/gorgeous. This is a great movie tho.

  • @ShaynaSmee really...she's very attractive...

  •

    I ♥ Johansson.

  • should have put Tommib as the soundtrack....

  • I disagree eatmycake. It is in fact a love story. But it is NOT a romance. Try to remember that some of our most passionate relationships can be with our friends.

  • Then LIT, which was great, I got the movie, I'm majoring in philosophy.. but you also have to realize that there is this thing called "ethics/morals" and no matter how bored you are with your life, it doesn't give you an excuse to go and kiss someone else? It's just plain wrong, she should have known better if she majored in philosophy. I'm glad they didn't have sex, which is good.

  • Well, I liked the movie, its actually my favorite... but I want to say a few things....

I used to like movie "Serendipity" ... but later I came to realize that a guy is a douche bag for leaving his fiance.

  • I just finished watching this movie.... but it doesn't make sense at all.

He is in Japan for a wiskey ad, she is in Japan with her husband and both realize they don't like their life... magically she know know a bunch of guys with whom they go have a good time (but before she seem to be confined in the hotel alone)... and than he return in USA.... BOOOORING!!!

  • What??? where was her ass??

  • Pink song is sooooi shit

  • I love this movie! And the video is excellent but Pink has nothing to do with this!! And the movie has an excellent soundtrack!

I know that lots of people have already wrote this (about Pink), but the video is so good that the choose of this music is really a pitty.... :(

  • it's big shit

  • pink with lost in translation? not a good mix. a real genuine movie that shouldn't be mixed with such music

  • i wish i could find a girl like scarlett johanson in my life

  • scarlett... bloody beautiful!!!

  • lol i'm clearly one of the few that likes this video and the song...the lyrics don't seem a stretch for me...but anyway...great movie!

  • wow this is such shitty music in comparison to the film which has an amazing soundtrack.

  • couldn't of said it better myself, pink sucks, Lost in Translation soundtrack owned.

  • what does this song have to do w/ the movie????

  • It is about having no love.

  • I don't see what Pink {and this song in particular} really has to do with "Lost in Translation", but whatever...

  • ya twat its a love story

  • THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY. The movie is in NO WAY a love story. Its about being lost, whether it be in location, in interpretation, or in life, and finding a person who is right there with you. Finding someone just as lost and trying to find it together. Its about friendship, the kind that stays with you wherever you go, no matter how long you know the person.

One of my absolute favorite films.

  • The scenario you describe - having watched the film several times - sounds like a love story to me. Lost souls who fall in love, perhaps. Tortured souls, absolutely. But I didn't think for a second at the end of this film that these two hadn't fallen in love. Articulate comment though - and yes it is a truly wonderful movie.

  • i get ya.. its about find someone, when ur lost ..

  • eatmycakefatkid, I agree with you 100%! It's exactly that! This is not a love story!!

  • its about being lost in the world.. and finding someone who shares that feeling..

the theme of losing things is very present

(sleep, love, the lauguage etc...) the movie is moving, and reminds me off being a kid who fell in love with this girl

  • friendship.. that turns to love, pal

  • @eatmycakefatkid It is what you describe, but it also is a love story. A very unconventional love story. Ask Sofia Coppola.

  • uhhhhhhhhh.......

  • i like this song my pink

best song on her Try This album

  • oh god why did you feel the need to do this?

  • True, this song, or the singer Pink have nothing whatsoever to do with the spirit of this movie.

I mean, i don't remember the movie being as boring as Pink's music lol!

    poor choice indeed

  • What? why this song.

Doesnt fit the movie at all imo

  • in this movie she is sooo cute !!! i like this and "lovesong for booby long" most !!!

  • What happened to the video of Avril Lavigne. I looked it up and can't find it anywhere! It went best with this song, so if anyone knows what I'm talking about can they make the video?

  • This is probably the most misinterpreted film of all times...It is not AT ALL about love or falling in love...Still, one of my favourite movies, reminds me of my time in Tokyo...

  • I also love this movie and it also reminds me of my time in Tokyo. I'm curious, what's your interpretation of this film? Friendship? Growing up? Life experiences?

  • Lonliness... finding a kindred spirit in foreign place where they're both "lost".

  • Oh weird, I thought that this movie was supposed to be about loneliness. It didn't occur to me until this second it was supposed to be a love story. Definitely not. I thought it was supposed to be a May-December friendship, like that "What would you say to yourself at twenty-two?" question.

  • i think that the film is about two people that were lost in their own life but when they meet each other find out that his life or her life wasn't so horrible and well maybe is about freindship too, and Life experiences but most of all the fim is about failure of understanding :about culture, people, age and LIFE

  • I think it's about communication. :) I wish I could explain more, but my English really isn't good -_-°

  • i would like to meet this movie charecter. but only in movie not in real live.. she is very cute

  • Love the song!

    Love the movie!

    Love you!

    :-)

  • Spricket24 ?

  • do you have the song??

because i can't find it nowhere to download it

and it be great if you could please please

    sent it to me??

  • could be me hahaha

  • Beautyful pictures and good song. Great work!

  • for descritpion a person of Charlotte is a perfect song :)

  • pretty...

  • scarlett Johansson possesses a rare kind of beauty, but the thing i love about her is even though she's famous now, she doesn't pretend to be something she's not. the faint smile sends a good message.

  • there was just something about the movie "Lost in Translation" that really captured me. It was the music and the mood that it set for me... really lonely, yet warm...

  • Thanks!!! Great video!!!

    From Lisbon!!!!

  • well done, a+ ^^

  • well..this is a very impressive video :)

  • for me an awesome video..
