@parkman35 No, he was a ruthless son of a btich. It's a shame Obama has taken advice from Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod, two staunch products of his machine, and his own son Bill. Just because Rahm Emanuel and Bill Daley worked and befriended Clinton doesn't mean that Clinton sucked to them. Obama sure has sucked up to his fellow Chicagoans. Daley's deal-making, power-hungry political tactics still rule Chicago to this day. I'm a staunch Democrat too.

This is truly a find. I'm surprised no one else noticed it. LBJ is assuring the original Mayor Daley that he has the delegates lined up. A month or so later he goes on national TV and takes himself out of the race.
