Timothy Morrison's solo was perfect, but the extra brass in the balconies undoubtedly bungled the performance. I remember the "Evening at Pops" episode that this piece was premiered and was overall a better performance.

@thalfman That was an excellent performance on Evening at Pops. It was the program with Stanley Donen. i had that on VHS but a friend borrowed it and never returned it, sadly. I wish I had that video back.

@thalfman Considered how it iis so testosterone charged for the instrument(trumpet) and compettition in the northeast, as well as the required level of professional competence, I think over the recent years the quality has really dropped.
