Great video and important history. Should be taught in history classes. Would never happen, the feminists would all have strokes over these visions! God bless our heroic vets!
brave young men, laughing off the 1 in 4 chance, literally, that they would not return to their families. Such dedication stuns me to tears. RIP, those that had to give all.
Thanks fuhmeregan. My uncle, Thaddeus "Ted" Jarosz, was killed in action, a waistgunner in THE PHOENIX, shot downover Misburg, Germany in late November of '44. My father who was in the 3rd Arm'd Div. was in England recovering from his wounds and was visiting at the airbase when his brother Ted's plane, a B-24, did not return that day late in November. My dad had to return to combat to be reunited with his unit on Christmas Eve during the Battle of the Bulge. Gosh that must have been rough.
thanks so much. My dad, Leon Beausoleil flew in "Late Date', M.I.A. over Switzerland 18 march 1944, bombing site supposed to be
Friedrichshafen Germany. Six of the crew bailed out and were taken P.O.W. and the other six stayed with the plane and crash landed in Switzerland! My dad stayed with the plane.
Your Dad Flew with my grandfather, Lt. Sam Poppel. He also went down with the late date. Ended up meeting my grandmother there. Sam and Ruth are alive and well in MA.
Wow, that is an incredible story. First, that you would see a comment from someone whose father knew your grandfather but also because they were lucky enough to crash land in Switzerland and not Germany.
Thank you for posting this video. My Father was a B-24 pilot ofr the US Army Air Corps. I lost him last year. It does my heart good to see parts of his life kept alive as this video did. The country and most of todays citizens dont realize what we still owe the people of his generation. For all you WWII vets who read these words, Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and honor of duty!
Amazing how many stories are lost to the winds of time.....forever.

Best video on youtube. Showing real American heroes from the "greatest generation" who sacrificed everything to keep us free. May we never forget...
