@OMGItsMitchell handheld was what the director wanted. he was going for a more documentary type feel. i personally don't likle handheld unless it is used for an action sequence or dramatic effect.
@staged1 The camera settings used are listed above in my response to TheRealQawser's question. I think the flat picture style (sharpness, contrast, and saturation reduced) without any color correction helps alot. And the lighting and shot composition give it a "film" feel.
@TheRealQawser Thanks for the comment. The settings used were as follows: shutter speed -1/50, aperture - f1.8, ISO either 200 or 400 (can't remember exactly, but I always try to keep it low as possible to reduce noise). The lens was the cheap Canon 50mm F1.8 II prime. For only a hundred bucks you can't beat the image quality you get from it. The card was also one of the cheaper ones...SanDisk Ultra 16GB. And I shot this using a flat picture style (contrast and saturation reduced).
@zume2600 i have the t2i, i can change the setting of the iso when taking pics but i cant change the setting when shooting film, pls help, and also what class of memory card are you using? thanks
@enlightenradio After rotating the mode dial to the movie mode setting, simply press the ISO button located slightly forward of the mode dial. You can then rotate the selector dial (directly in front of the ISO button) to choose from ISO 100 to 6400. A good recommendation is to keep the ISO level at 800 or below, depending on lighting, to avoid noise in your video. And I used a Sandisk Ultra 16GB flash (Class 4).
@TheRealQawser There was no color correction done in post. And the sound that was used in the final cut was actually recorded on an external stereo mic connected to a Panasonic DVX100b which was also capturing the scene of both characters from a different angle.
hey! the lens is macro or normal?

you should put the camera on a tripod when you take this shot. It looks better then. And the shakiness is distracting.
