Wow someone said these guys were better than aissie floyd. Not even close. The vocals sound average at best. And of you play floyd please don't add your own lyrics. What makes aussie floyd so good is they play pink floyd exactly like floyd, they don't change a thing.
@Theskipperoakes Lol. When bands play their own music, THEY even change their song up. If anything, they should be shot for not being creative. Listen to any band's studio album then listen to a live song. No two are alike.
He said "Smoke a Bone Beside the Fire" not a "Bomb". This is the greatest cover band to cover Pink Floyd, and as the artist, Joe has poetic license to alter a lyric or two, and judging from the audience's reaction, it is not a bad addition to an already great tune!
i love you guys!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,but i saw you for the fifth time this weekend A.C. Harrahs,,,,,,and was sad to see the concert & intensity (1:30) felt short of your norm (2:30-3:00).
Ive seen you in AC/NJ NY/NY and PA/various....had fun but dissappointed!
I WAS THE GUY IN THE SANTA HAT WITH THE RED BANDANA LENGTHENING IT!!!!WEED SHIRT, GUITAR PICK NECKLACE, 7TH ROW ISLE CENTER!
I think this guitar solo is a fantastic tribute to the legend that is Dave Gilmour. I look forward to seeing these guys in Charlottesville, VA in March.
Good post and great point slinky. I have seen Floyd live several times and Roger Waters several times also. If they aren't playing together it isn't "PINK FLOYD" anyway. These guys are the real deal. As good live as "Gilmour's Floyd" or Waters live.
To those that hate the idea of this cover band, I'm sorry that you feel that way, but there are lots of us that never got the chance to see the actual Pink Floyd and most likely never will. I don't think that I should not be allowed to hear this wonderful music in a concert setting (which is where music belongs). Let me enjoy my concerts please.
I'm going to see them tonight in Frederick, Maryland at the Weinberg Center. It's nicely restored & renovated classic theater that's non-profit hosting live music, stage shows, current & classic films. Nosferatu (1922) for Halloween and decent prices! I saw P.F. in the 80's at the defunct Capitol Centre,Largo, MD just outside of D.C. I was trippin' balls & it was great!!!
Why the fuck would you want to hear something that's "identical to the original"?! I'll buy you a nice sound system and you can listen to real Floyd LP's at home... Seeing a concert should be different than listening to studio recordings.
Amen to that! I've seen Aussie Floyd and for as good as The Machine might be, Aussie Floyd is definitely the next best thing to Pink Floyd themselves. They've even played for David Gilmour and he gave them his seal of approval!
these guys are so good, i saw them a few years ago at lupos in RI, on ecstacy, and there were so many people smoking blunts and joints around me and they were passin em to me, and it was just so amazing.
wow this is really goood...i caught roger waters on his DSOTM tour in 07 i belive it was epic, truely amazing and i cant wait to see him again...but i think im goin to see them tonite =)
@rickycrue Lol me too, they perform this sunday at Lansing Common Grounds. I can't wait to see them blazed out while they perform with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra.
I saw them last year and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Don't let the fact the fact that they are a cover b and fool you they are like seeing the actual thing. They do really well, on everything off Animals, and Echoes. See them if you get the chance.
This brings back fond memories. My friends dragged me out to see The Machine at Wetlands Preserve on Christmas Eve, 1994. I had broken up with my ex-fiancee just a few weeks before, was feeling really down, and they literally dragged me into NYC. Well, that night was an experience. The murals on the walls, the VW Microbus in the lobby with all the enviromental awareness pamphlets... and The Machine with the light show was in the right venue! I miss Wetlands, it was a class joint...
The voice seems a bit off, but that could be any variety of things from the equipment used to record to just a bad night for the vocalist. They'll be performing in South Florida come January...I've seen Aussie Floyd twice and I don't know how they can be beat short of the real deal. But I certainly give The Machine a try! "It's good to smoke a bowl beside the fire." Indeed!
This band puts on a great show.I've attended 510+ concerts since 1973 and have seen "A" listers and tribute bands. The Machine is only 1 of 3 tribute bands I would pay to see.Australian Pink Floyd, and Get The Led Out are the other 2.
They're the most AMAZING Floyd cover band out there. I haven't seen them in several years (getting married and having kids eats up A LOT of ones time, lol) but I'm hoping to go to one of their shows ASAP. 5 stars!
Im travelling with Nightwing to Rock of Ages festival in Germany at the end of July and The Machine are playing, looking forward so seeing them play now.
The Machine is the best Floyd tribute out there... if you ever get the chance to see them, don't miss it! Thanks for sharing this, tvs82... although it's a shame you missed Todd's drum intro... I have a thing for that! =)
i don't need drugs to enjoy pink floyd, sorry everyone.
