A question has been nagging at me for a while now. Specifically, when a patient presents themself to a psychiatrist and expresses distress that a family member is 'negatively influencing' them, this is taken as a sign of schizophrenia. However, when this same insight is held by a therapist, it's 'family systems therapy'. Please explain!
