  • That looks great. Good job.

  • disco

  • "Create 3D cities in a "single click" with Suicidator City Generator". Yeah right! There are at least a hundred clicks you have to make to set the parameters so that you get a city just like that!

  • @agentEE7 Just to make some random city, it takes one click. For what you want, 100+, PiichanPictures is basically right.

  • just waiting for a 2.5 version of the add-on to come out!

  • This is stunning - you have craeted an awesome city

  • Can I use this video for my short movie?

  • @wilstafproductions

Sure, no problem, thx for asking :)

  • sparkly

  • is there a tutotial to use the generator? i keep on trying to get good buildings but htey always look like crap

  • I never got this looking very good...

Could you make a tut on how you did this?

  • @TheFXGuy

In the script GUI, textures tab, set daylight to 0.05 and generate a few building textures.

In the city material properties, set emit to the maximum.

Use a very dim light or none at all in your scene.

Put halos on roads and crowded areas to simulate diffuse lighting.

    Hope it helps :)

  • @PiiichanPictures

I did what you said (and maybe it's because I don't use Blender very much and am missing something simple), but whenever I render, they have this weird blocky texture. In textured mode in the Blender 3D view, though, it shows the nighttime texture. Any suggestions?

  • @TheFXGuy

Make sure you enable the "TexFace" option in the city material, "material" tab (shortcuts: f5)

These are basic steps. You should spend some time familiarizing yourself with Blender first. Follow one or two introductory tutorials about Blender materials and textures.

Use the RGB curves compositing node to play with the contrast and colors of the final render.

Everything is already setup in the .blend file you download from the website. Use CTRL+RIGHT to show the compositing nodes.

  • @PiiichanPictures

It is enabled. Still got the weird blocky texture.

Maybe it would help to know that it's the roof that looks bad. I just realized that the windows look normal.

And I'm not a total noob at blender. I know the interface and where everything is. What I meant by that is I could just be overlooking something simple because I spend most of my time doing 2D compositing.

  • dude.....thats just fakking awesome

  • Now if only I had after effects. That way I can just import the .obj in there and have faster rendering.

  • That`s just awsome!! How the hell did u find out about all these properties in blender. Sure i have only blender 4 3 days, but i don `t know s**t about it.!! Any way, nicely done...xD

  • how do you make the lights in the windows glow?

  • You have to set the buildings material "emit" property to a high value, then play with the compositing nodes to control the rendered output contrast.

  • Can you use this in the game engine?

  • You cannot generate meshes while a game is running AFAIK. But you can use a generated city in your game of course.

  • Hey, thanks so much for your response! I will follow this link here! You're awesome!

  • i downloaded the map- i don't know if it was this one or perhaps another one- and i just wanted to say thank you for offering this for free for others to enjoy! That was so kind of you:) You did all the hard work:((( But it paid off because this is just beautiful! Listen, i don't mean to ask for more than you've already given but i'm a newbie, so...are there any tutorials for this material? Thanks again!

  • It's my pleasure to share my work with the community.

I have updated this video's description (top right), you'll find the website link there.

  • WHOLE **** damm you are sooo goood!!!!

Please tell me how to do that!! Thank You!!;)

  • Thanks!

  • dude...

Need to make a city for my 3D work....this will make the process almost completely painless. I bow to your skills...

Do you have a rough idea when you will be releasing this? I'm totally subscribing so I know the minute its available!

  • I will release the next version in about 2 weeks (if it's not too tense at my workplace).

The texture generator has been improved since this video: we now have much more control, and the buildings look less boring.

  • Awesome. Can't wait. I downloaded your current build, but I don't know where the documentation is on your site so I can figure out how everything works. Is there an official doumentation for this yet, or are you waiting for the final release.

Either way I'm gonna keep playing with this whenever I get the chance. Can't wait for the new release!

  • putin trop bo U_U

  • Amazing work! Can,t wait for the final to be released!

  • omg that is so awesome 5*

    cant wait for final script

  • I've been following the development on this script since the beginning, and I've got to admit, it has become simply amazing.

  • woooooow its so amazing!!

  • That's pretty cool. The window flicker though makes it look like flames almost.

As for the placement of lights by hand, are you saying you created a lamp for each window?

  • dito, can't wait to see the final script :)

    maces

  • Of course not :) There's a single lamp in the whole scene.

The windows are simply bunches of pixels in a texture, and that texture is procedural.

The flickering is not made on purpose, it happens because I turned off oversampling.

  • Cool. I haven't learned procedural textures yet. Keep rockin.

  • very good work keep it up 5 stars to you m8 :)
