  • It's is not code to run power cables through the wall only component cables and hdmi cables.. The power is not code because of fire hazard use a dead circuit cables to power up your tv.. This guy really don't know what he is doing..

  • a loser has a video showing how to hang a tv why you don't have a level , why didn't you show how to wall fish.......cause it ain'tready if u never done it

  • Yes. The starter holes help from splitting the beam with the Lag bolt. It also makes driving in the lags easier. It also confirms you are hitting a beam. You can't always trust a stud finder.

  • So you don't explain if the beams are not where you need them. You don't show the finish plates. No power to power up the TV. Professional installer will carry and install UL listed product and meet local code requirements. You want your job to look as good with the TV up as the TV down. Knowing which cable is best changes so often it's hard to keep up. HDMI Ver 1.3a, 1.3b, for 3D Use either high speed or high speed with Ethernet. Do you need a network connection for smart TV,s.? Are you planni

  • Can somebody answer my dumb question pls :)

Is it really necessary to drill these "starter holes" into the studs first (3:33)?

Non of the other videos ever go into this step.

  • Find studs first then go from there, lol!

  • what happens wen a friend comes over n leans on ur tv n it slips out through the side

  • Who can I hire to do this nd how much wuld it cost me

  • I just bought a mount for my 47 inch vizio and after watching all these vids on the internet i am taking it back. Too much hastle.

  • wrong mount! that tv will bounce like a bitch. use vesa mount one.

also put the hangers on the wrong way!!! the tilt adj. knobs are supposed to be on the outer side so you can loosn/tighten it einstein!

    USE A LEVEL!

  • @enilyksnor I actually scrolled down just to see if anyone else noticed that. I'm FINALLY hanging our new LED tv and wanted to see a few vids on it even though I'm sure it's common sense. Even on the sides though it seems like a tight fit, but what he did here? That's just asking for a smack in the head moment. So what do you mean by the tv will bounce?

  • @enilyksnor I agree. Brackets on the wrong side and no level. You HAVE to level the TV, not that it will not work, it just won't look nice when it's crooked on the wall. It's also pointless to put small drywall screws at the bottom of the mount, they do not even touch the back plate.

  • if im mounting a small 23in 10.5 lb monitor do i need to find the studs aswell im curious

  • @hacker13sacker yes you would, b/c the dry wall isnt strong enough to hold your lcd.

  • @hacker13sacker no need for 10.5Lb monitor. You can use some special drywall anchors or butterfly anchors. Even the small ones hold 20-40LB each so if you use 4 you are good to go.

  • sorry man didn't mean to insult you. Its code here in california to have wires behind the wall properly protected. probably different in other parts of the country but protecting those wires dropped behind the wall is probably a good idea even if you don't live here.

    cheers

  • with your tape, just remember that your floor might not always be leveled....buy a stud finder please

  • I install these for a living....1. wrong mount for the TV. 2. Your around about the cord threw the wall, its not a HUGE deal but its up to a home owner. I WONT DO IT but thats me. And finally 3! USE A LEVEL! OMG USE A DAMN LEVEL!

  • Comment removed

  • i used metal anchors with my 37inch screen for extra protection on a 2armed pull out wall mount, and i used a 12mm drill piece, i had my screen at eye level. i only found 1 stud. PEOPLE ALWAYS USE A GOD DAMMN LEVEL. sometimes walls and windows arent even level so thiers no point in using them as a guide for leveling.

  • Dude

you can not put the electrical cord behind the wall. duh

  • @jabou916 ...oh really and why not? I do this for a living and I put them back there ALL the time. Was trained by a 20year vet. The only thing I wont do is run an extension cord in wall, but if its a solid connect with no break, its fine and you know it! And to the guy up top, that mount is FINE....what do you mean wrong mount? It worked didnt it, no matter you hear or read, you cant argue with success....and dude, use a level. Whats the matter with you? Not everyone has $ to move an outlet !!

  • No person should attempt to follow these instructions at any time. Many industry rules were broken & the electrical violation is a problem. If someone wishes to have a TV wall mounted, they should call a pro for real info or procedure.

  • just buy a cord cover kit... instead of making holes in the wall and all that trouble.

  • silly yanks with all their studs, just build a house in the proper way with brick walls.

  • I agree, We all live in wood shacks here (Canada). I want to move back to england...

  • @billsy69 Right ...i lived in Elgand for 3 years, then came back to the USA, TEH HOUSES ARE SO SHITTY HERE!!! Plaster board and stucco...that all the houses are made form. You brits built houses to withstand teh Blitz and all that shit....your homes can be BOMBED and still be pretty well ok. If the Germans bombed American cities, they would be dust in seconds ....

  • @billsy69 We Yanks aren't afraid of the Big Bad Wolf!

  • @billsy69 How will those bricks do during an earthquake............ :P

  • Does this guy not realize that it is against code to place power cords in wall like that when doing this it is a good idea to just have a electrician put a out let behind the TV safer that way.

  • This is a crazy video

  • Good video for the mount, but u need to give more details on the rest cause u practically jumped the step for the holes and the cable through the hole step too. I saw some other videos so i learned how to do it, but thanks for explain the mount system

  • pretty basic information. I already knew most of it. my problem is Insufficient studs. I found two studs that I can mount one half of the mount on. But what do I do about the other half of the mount? My TV is 52" LCD. I need info on how to use a toggle bolt. Maybe in the next video you will cover it? But thanks anyway.

  • yea, i sorry about that. I remember being a little tipsy when i wrote that and wanting to remember to apologize

  • Power and extension cords are the leading cause of electrical fires in homes. Do not put them inside your wall!

  • how about mounting on a brick wall

  • Running the power cord in the wall isn't code compliant, check out Power Bridge or Datacomm for a code compliant alternative. (Or get an electrician)

  • Thanks!

  • Not using a level isn't smart at all

  • Why would you want to use a level?

  • to level your TV maybe.......

  • best video yet.. my wall is older and it sticks out a lil bit whree the wood is and sounds diff.. so i dont think i need a stud finder u think id b safe?

  • Thats not even a TV its the same DEll monitor that i have!!

  • LCD tv and PC monitors have VESA support dumbass!!

  • Very good video, this will help me!

  • after watch this vids.

    i save USD$150 for installation.

  • thank you! but will the tv slide off the mount if you move it, like does it just sit ther on the mount?

  • The video is how to hang the tv, not how to hook up the wires through the wall..

  • @lootersftw123 I guess you did not read the title

  • Very cool, thanks.
