I take exception to this on the following grounds: The spanish word "negro" comes from the latin "niger" yes the meaning is black, but not just inanimate objects. Since a slave was not a member of society, he/she was an item of ownership, then necro or nekro was used to describe the color the item. Finally no where in Grimm's Law does it specify the "C" character of the English language to ever be "interchangeable" with either the"K" or the "G." However the "G" is interchangeable with the "K."
So case in point the word NECRO means dead, yes
