  • Yes I love this song but I'd also like to know.. what IS the name of this song? What CD is it from?

  • @crizpy9119

a better quality stands on the album "petestrumentals"

and a old version ft edo g on youtube: peterock & edo g - Shed a trear

  • Dont forget Damu the fudgemunk !

  • got a track on a 9th wonder / pete rock beat called "my city" check it out !

  • and don't forget HD

  • wait how does both 9th and pete rock make a track?

  • Don't Forget the RZA and Q-Tip

  • This is definitely 100% Wack- free

  • Flying lotus............................

  • what's the name of this track??

  • great

  • J Dilla, DJ Premier, 9th wonder, Pete Rock, Madlib, MF Doom, I all agree with

But don't forget: Nujabes, Blockhead, Ant, Large Professor, Buckwild, and many more.

  • not gonna shed a tear in the basement, if i did that could not repalce it

  • Orra... bate no peito mesmo.

    Respect from Brasil.

  • yo this is ssuck because he talking all over the track and shit what if I want to do a freestyle to this,

  • @floppies i disagree man its chill as fuck, i love this song man especially the freestyle that pete does. I chill to this when I'm feeling reflective connecting with memories, i strive off the energy, this song brings me like the frequency coming from mercury sending messages across the galaxy around the rings of Saturn hear it sing with a rhythmic pattern.

  • @Schevaun yo those are some deep dope lyric you got there are you a rapper? But my problem is i'm doing a mixtape and I want to use this beat, but I cant rap over all the damm talking, it really pisses me off cause i love this track

  • @floppies Yeah man i am up coming more of a poet though, me and my friends are gonna work on our demo this upcoming summer, right now we are laying out some concepts and how to present it so it sounds dope as fuck. But i get what you're saying the talking does fuck it up but its cool. In the past(last summer) we have just freestyled over classics beats but starting to work on our own stuff cuz we're here to change music completely the time has come for something new.

  • this song is calmer than frozen water

  • Yo when I 1st heard this 1st track playing

I played it on repeat and was vibing for hours literally. Fucked around and woke up the day and was still feeling it. Good Lookin out on this 9th, HipHop really needs you and Pete Rock fa'real!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • always a pleasure..

  • GODLIKE!!!!!!!

  • I'm so gonna smoke one while listening to this..

  • its so simple

  • Penny for my thoughts, nickels what they sellin

Dimes give me head, dollars what we spendin

You dont understand about a quarter of what Im telling

Cuz half goin one ear and out the cerebellum

I fell in deep from the wrist to the fist

Dont worry; Im here to assist like Derek Fish

I set fire to a track and it burns the whole station

Dillmatic and a pen is the deadly combination

  • @whathappenedyo totally feelin' versus!!!

  • ill beat! ill free's!

  • This once again proves that true beauty can be simplicity itself.

  • 5 stars

  • one of the sickest compositions of my time, word up

  • 1st. Most people never understand what radio exists to begin with, but rather propose their own understanding as truth. Radio exists, first and foremost, to promote and sell goods and/or services. (Homework:Research "soap" operas)

    2. To suggest something is "pure evil" shows how unsophisticated your understanding is - specifically how you lack that inclusive comprehension needed to make worthwhile opinions.

    - (Bottom Line: you're bullshit, young fella)

  • get off your high horse and dont take shit so literal you know what im gettin at prick

  • melodramatic my azz, the radio is pure evil aside from NPR and the school stations, and beauty like this will never be appreciated, only sold out or forgotten, your non challant pessemism/ appreciation is proof

  • whats wrong with "selling out"? im already sensing the death of commercial radio...its not going to go anywhere unless it gets with the times. even 9th wonder says he liked working with jay z, luda, and destiny's child. alot of good underground tunes aren't heard by today's mainstream simply cause they aren't marketed correctly. i mean wouldn't you want your favorite producer to be put in the same sentence as legends like james brown, prince, led zeppelin, pink floyd, etc etc?

  • more proof to this: record labels are pretty much done for...theres no purpose of the classic definition of a record label. music is in a transition phase.

oh and just checkin but are you gonna tell me you dont like run dmc, wu tang, or any other legends simply because they found mainstream appeal? if it doesn't change the music then wtf is wrong with it?

  • Comment removed

  • ......to tell u the truth u seem to have the average philosophies of pseudo enlightened people nowadays...... u kno those guys who mistake enlightenment for arrogance they feel superior to others just because they say things like this is real hiphop......or lil wanye killed hiphop and i hate mainstream....... or my fav, theres ah new world order "illuminati "LOL peace

  • If heaven had a sound 9th Wonder would speak it Angels would listen As God would teach it Humans trying so hard Just to reach it I'm speechless What's this feeling I must be flying I'm higher than the ceiling I'm stealing A little bit of a dream That's how it seems The scene is so serene Know what I mean?
  • @blackmeth24 dope stuff, feelin this. record that shit!

  • we need this on are radios

  • Primo makes the best street beats..that's his strength..

  • @ghost4doom true. But he can switch it up, He's Versatile.

  • once in a while he does

  • Steal this music, you kill this music. Dont be an animal. For me this line of music is a microexample of the world. The truth in its pure form is underground and mostly unkown. I ask dj after Dj if they know Fat Jon or if they ever play music like this and none of em have a clue. While that mass produced bullshit floods the air waves. This music here is the truth and hope for humanity. Kill this music and we are doomed to a hundred years of mainstream. Long live the underground

  • well u gotta understand at one point this was mass produced too {nas & AZ on a sprite cm}.........eventually the shit u hear on the radio will be over taken by another genre shit goes in cycles........to me i feel like the us is gonna be more like japan "Happy pop Based music"

  • yea but this isnt like nas & AZ, this is the tip of a much more profound genre/style. The style of fat jon, damu the fudgemunk, j-dilla, nujabes, madlib..... When this music is on the radio or in commercials America will either have reached a new level of consciousness or we will be in the very depths of our destruction

  • Lmao dnt be so melodramatic my man.....

I dnt see this stuff ever reachin main stream

our style of hiphop will end up being

Kinda like how jazz is now.... considering that hiphop was born from the same fire as soul music and jazz....it'll suffer the same fate being discarded.... check out the ICONs amoung us

    jazz doc

  • even tho it's good music if u let people my age here they'll say it's just something old folk listen to.... kinda like jazz......

There are still plenty of great jazz musicians out there that are really reachin new heights with there music.... but just like the original sound of hiphop no one cares....

  • who is Fat Jon?

  • fat jon is my friend! he lives in fontana

  • CalifornIE! thats wassup.

Im from cali. Never heard of him though.

  • if thats tru then do me a favor and tell him thanks for doin what he does. He's made my life infintely better with his music

  • he's one of the greatest unknown producers ever his beats are holy music

  • a breath of fresh air!!!

  • 9th wonder and pete rock!!!!

  • These are 2 producers that make music grips your soul in your chest. Some of the select few to ever touch a sound board and really produce harmony

  • and don't forget Dj BattleCat

  • somebody needs to download this, burn it, and mail it directly to timbalands asshole. he truly is the hottest producer in the game, as long as the game is that generic artificial/superficial thing known as popular music.

  • Mmm. Nujabes is my all time fav.

  • damn this is what we call dopeness

  • IMHO, PR, Dilla, and Primo are like a ultimate producer "truimvirate"

Then you have those producers who intertwined in the triumvirate like Dre, Madlib, 9th, Kev Brown, Xtra P, Thes One, Muggs, J Rawls, Quik, Diamond D, Showbiz, Illmind, Khalil, etc etc

  • Madlib is far superior then primo.

  • I like them both but I beg to differ....

  • Madlib might chop and do all that crazy shit to his beats. but Primo is just original HIP HOP. Primo makes more bangers than Madlib IMO.

  • not by a landslide though

  • not really an istrumental, but man its smooth

  • this shit is like... idek usually when yu hear really long instrumentals yu get bored of them and jus go to the next song but i can play all 8½ minutes of this over and over and over and over... so solid

  • 1. Pete Rock

    2. Buckwild

    3. J Dilla

Kev Brown, Oddisee, Madlib, 9th Wonder, RZA, CYNE, Havoc

  • peep that Suzuki Kaioh shit lol..

  • J Dilla, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Pete Rock. All i need.

  • werd UP!!!

the classics right there. to get the 4 of them and just embrace in that goodness...

  • +100 thumbs ups to that comment

  • Dont Forget Black Milk, Madlib and MF Doom.

  • @Schmalzgau M-Phazes , buckshot and q-tip are also ill as fuck!

  • check out Kev Brown. He's a combination of them all.

  • I couldn't agree more

  • @kirklandtee

    You forgot Nujabes.

  • @kirklandtee No RZA? (90's)

  • and of course madlib!

  • @kirklandtee no fuckin doubt thats all ya need but i can put some rza and dj muggs and some nicolay in from foreign exchange

  • pete, dilla, preme, 9th, rza, dj muggs, tru master, and nicolay from foreign exchange. my niggas when it come to this beat shit, oh by the way phonte ripped that freestyle too yall niggas need to know we got real emcees down here in the south too. Peace to beat Gods.

  • Fuckin ill shit!!

  • yeah 9th Wonder is so special, for me hes in one line with J Dilla, Premier and Pete

  • definitely agreed with that...put nicolay and samon kawamura on the list and you got my top 5!

  • 9th wonder is one of the best ever i think. maybe only dilla and pete rock are better than him and some minds yet to be discovered. but just listening to 9th wonder on murs album i knew he was special.

  • lol i like 9th wonder an all but he doesn't compare to pete rock in the slightest yet.

  • best of bests

  • deep cut

  • man this shit, well all of his stuff is real music its what keeps me goin

  • ●/ You say Soulja Boy, I say yancey boyz

  • yeah i agree with u and all but u could of made better comparesons how ever u spell it and ur missing some rly rly rly good artist xD

  • i actually just copied this from someone else and added my own artists.....and i wasnt really caring about who the artists were....these are MY favorite artists....

and they are all real hip hop...

  • o lol xD yeah real hip hop. im only 14 and i can see hip hop is dieing

  • thats why im on a mission to try to save it....

the more ppl we have trying to change it and save it....the more likly we'll be successful ....

thats why i produce music....its not much yet....but it will be something one day...

    check my shiz out....

  • o rly!?! yeah me to im doing dirty south right now but as u can see the south is the ones killing it i want to do all genders like south stuff, stuff jeezy or nas can rap to and i want to make beats like 9th or PR. im trying to save hip hop as well.

  • dont make yur music like any1, just bcos hip hop dusnt have as much new stuff comin out now dusnt mean yu have to repeat whats already released, make the music that yu feel man, put yurself in yur tracks n yu'll create somethin new

  • lol i think u took that to literal when i said "beats like 9th or PR" i meant like give ppl the same feeling but with a diffrent style =P. As u said ima put myself in my trakcs bro xD

  • yet another unreal beat from the GODS

  • é ixo aí valeuu....

  • 好, I like dat!

  • I heard this beat years ago. It brought about so much emotion then. I just wish I could hear a version where he wasn't rapping. You would think on this beat there would be some real heavy shit to talk about. But I guess no one was up for it so they did some silly shit instead.

  • true!! this beat is so hypnotic..just bob ya head and let your mind go....

...but the talking kills it though

  • I don't remember which Pete Rock album it is off of, but there is just the instrumental to this.

  • that 1rst beats amazin man

  • sounds like something talib would rap over for sure!

  • lets thank god he didnt tho, wit his current flow an style he woulda butchered this instrumental imo....phonte on the other hand is mad chilled an perfect for such a beat!

  • sounds like its got the same sample from above the clouds

  • NO!

it is called Shed A Tear

    By ED OG

  • I've heard this beat a few years back, but it was Ed OG who did the song "So Clearly". Then again..*shrugs*

  • My fault, the tune was "Just a Tear"

  • "Cause i don't rap"

  • Whats this song? Can anyone Tell me?

  • You can find it on the Soul Survivor II: The Surviving Elements album. These are the songs he didn't pick for SS2 album a couple years back! UK represent!
