I think they are similiar in some way. If only PH had some hits like Gabriel's... But maybe it's better that he had not - at least for us hardcore fans.

@MiszczBetonmen; @TheMitzjob I didn't know this; fascinating information, since i'm a big Peter Gabriel fan, and knowing his music it's no surprise at all that Peter Hammill is a great influence. However, whilst both are geniuses imo, Peter Gabriel has sold out somewhat to pursue the commercial hits, and thus Peter Hammill's songs probably resonate with me the most.
