This is really great! Me and my grand daughter always enjoys your music, we quite frankly dont know why, it seems that its calming our mood, and it also helps her do her homework faster when she listens to fiddle tunes
Wow, another beautiful Jay Ungar tune played by my favorite fiddler in the world. Thanks so much for your album. I am completely loving it....such a great mix of waltzes (which I always love) and other really fun upbeat things. Thanks for bringing so much heart to the world.
I have a fiddle like yours. Mine was made in Bohemia, before Czechoslovakia was to become a country. If yours is made in Bohemia it is around 1920 and back. I was told that they all sound vary warm and loud. They all have no named makers but are valued at $2,500.00 and up at this time. Thom....
@DonFlute It is an old German or Czechoslovakian mid grade instrument. Top has been replaced. It has a bone nut. I use Prim strings. Nothing too valuable, but I like the way it plays. Take care!
Hi have you ever played the song "If ever you were mine..."? I am blown away by your playing.. it is a bit of heaven and wondered if you had ever played that one....
I have listened to all of yours and they all have such heart and seem so effortless....ah but I know years of playing make it just an extension of yourself.
@mountain4415 I'm not familiar with that song...I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the compliment - I like to play and feel thankful to still be able to do it once in a while. Take care.
@fiddaboy There is a nice version at "Scythian at Sellersville "If Ever You Were Mine"" on you tube and I think the song is written by Maurice Lennon.
Nice video. There's a new version of this song getting a lot of airplay on bluegrass stations - includes mandolin and guitar solos but tempo and basic arrangement. I don't recall the group but it takes my breath away everytime it plays. Beautiful.
* you are an inspiration =) you played so beautiful..
