The male in front and the female in the back were bred in Alaska and come from a long line of predator control dogs. These dogs have actually run off Alaskan bears, (Sarah Palin needs a gun) so just because they are in the ring doesn't mean some of the dogs don't work. Some showdogs come from large commercial kennels but some work when they are not at the shows.
It is true that breeders have turned all dog breeds into cookie cutter deals with over show oriented breeding. No show dog looks like a real deal anymore. The announcers in dog shows keep saying that the dogs were originally used for this and that and I keep laughing. My foot! All these show dogs are similar to having all meat tasting like chicken. Kuvasz, btw, is a beautiful breed in its original form.

Na ja, meg az a habos-babos szőr. Megnézném,hogyan állnának ellent egy harapásnak! Mert az lehet, hogy úgy-ahogy ellent állnának, de nem annyira,mint kéne. Ennél rosszabb már csak pulit vagy komondort lenne látni ilyen szőrrel...
Nekünk is van Kuvaszunk, Vitéz! De ő nem tűrné ezt a megaláztatást szerintem, nagyon erélyes, erős akaratú állat!!! Gyönyörű a tartása és büszke a kiállása!
They make excellent companions. They are great with children as we had one when i was a kid. Being a sheep dog they are also excellent protectors. I am quite happy to leave the kids in the yard knowing they have a 130lb body guard looking after them. They are also very tolerant. Please keep in mind that they DO protect their own yards and everyone in it though.
I take my 2 Kuvaz hiking, running, and soon--mountain biking! When I head into the bush with them I feel very safe. These dogs are awesome companions, and guardians. But also very individualistic, strong willed, and independent of spirit as well. Not easy to train, but well worth the effort.
I agree with you, these dogs' coats seemed too straight to me. Maybe its just the video, or the way they were groomed. Their fur should more resemble sheep's wool.

Ezzel a piperkőc viselkedéssel csak megalázzák ezt az ősi, szívós fajtát.
Nekem is van kuvaszom, de nem ajánlanám egy vizsgabírónak sem, hogy csak úgy belenyúlkáljon a szájába! :)
