@adrikertesz ...I wasnt talking about ki aikido in general. I was talking about this specific video. it is physics. However, if we were to talk about the actual use of this martial art, i would say it is not very useful in many situations, especially modern day ones. Akido is a very hard art to use and apply to make it useful, especially against another individual whom practices another martial art at your similar level. I have had no problem taking out a 3rd DAN and 2nd DAN practicionar.
No, if you move him backwards he´ll compensate, he won´t fall down. Must throw him straight down. If you engage in any aikido practice you´ll understand.
Half of that video was showing credits! Could of at least had a few more techniques. It isnt that hard to do really, you place the person on his "3rd leg" so to speak but its a matter of encouraging him back first THEN down.
Hello 5raymi5! Aditional info is at the side of the video. If that´s not enough for you and you truly want anything other than criticize the video, I truly suggest you shopuld engage in some aikido dojo. THEN you´ll see these kind of experiments.
I don´t follow the idea of becoming better than others; just better than myself.
If you like (as I do) aikido movies, you´d rather watch Seagal Sensei´s.
It is not as you may suppose to make him move first BACKWARDS and THEN down. If you do so, he´ll compensate and just move back, but you´ll be unable to throw him. If you try you´ll know.

jesus. think about it, it's just pure physics, most of aikido is, yet they will ramble on about ki etc etc.

Of course it´s physics involved! Ki is NOT a concept about SEPARATION, it´s about mind and also "body".
Also Ki is better understood as "intention" than "energy"

How do you know? How much ki-aikido have you been doing?

Sorry, the fall was not caused by pressure points. If you practice aikido, you must know how to coordinate mind, body and gravity.
