Mortal Kombat Trilogy (N64) - Motaro Glitch!

Here's the bug:

Play a 2-player match on any stage where you can change to Motaro or Shao Kahn, and perform the trick in at least two rounds, then win with the boss and don't continue.

What happens is that the first time, your original character's ID number is copied to a secondary address. This address is later read to retrieve your original character when you return to 1P mode. But when you do the transformation a second time, the boss's ID is copied over instead, making this glitch work.

@WALLSTREETKID7 Motaro is not selectable in the N64 version and he is only playable if you use a certain code on certain stages and it only lasts for the duration of the match. Using an exploit, you can go through the tournament as him.

Motaro and Shao Kahn were only playable on the N64 version. PSOne and arcade got the real version without all of these crazy add ins.

I used to do this trick all the time. The game also has a crazy extra hard tournament ladder where it starts out with Khameleon followed by one endurance match after another. Using Motaro was the only way I could beat that to see the Fatality montage.

He is super cheap in the N64 version. You can basically just kick your opponent over and over, because he literally chases them across the screen when he does it. You win matches FAST doing that.

the whole MKT on N64 was a glitch Raiden would change colors sometimes, if player one wins somehow player two gets to do the fatality with his fighter the one that lost, and it couldn't keep up with the number of wins

when your motaro, all you got to do is kick them 4 times and their done... its kind of a cheap move, but its very effective and they cant get out of it.

To preform this glitch, for example, Motaro.

You start a 2 player match, select ANYONE and select the stage Wasteland (Which is always the first stage of the game) and simple hold down BACK+HIGHKICK+LOWKICK. Hold it untill the the match begins, and you'll see Motaro transformed from orginal character. Defeat player 2 and do the same trick for round 2, hold down BACK+HIGHKICK+LOWKICK, in the second round, you shall see Motaro transforming into Motaro once more, >>>>>

Not a glitch, they put it in here because they originally aren't in the game.

Shao Kahn Code: Pick any character and fight on The Rooftop, Pit Three, or Kahn's Cave. Win you are at the VS menu (when you picked your characters, hold Down + HP + LP before the match. You'll be Kahn.

Motaro: Fight on Jade's Desert, Kahn's Tower, or Wasteland, and before the match, hold Away + LK + HK. Then when the fighting screen loads and your character turns into Motaro, let go of the buttons.

too play as motaro/shao kahn through out single player mode, you gotta start up a 2 player game and do the motaro cheat twice, once every round, then let player 2 game over

Ok, I see what you did. You used the Motaro code in 2 player mode didn't continue the 2 player mode and you stayed as motaro in one player. Nice, I never thought of doing this. I know it works with Shao Kahn if it works with Motaro, sweet new reason to play this again! Does it glitch if you choose the tournament outcome?

@Ninsegalover Except in the PS1, PC and Sega Saturn versions, in which it will only show a picture of Motaro with 'Motaro Wins' under it.

The glitch is he's playing as Motaro in 1P mode.

This isn't normally possible on the N64, except for a glitch that onvolves 2P mode.

Do the Motaro code TWICE before the match ends, and you'll keep Motaro in 1P mode.

Thia also works with Shao Kahn.
