Somehow I get the point of the military, cause a Soldier is a Soldier doesn´t matter if the person is gay/bi/lesbian and MALE or FEMALE there shouldn´t be a differance. @84almond If I'm thinking of the right timeline, the video was made before DADT was abolished (yay!) so until then, soldiers weren't allowed to show thier faces, otherwise they'd be 'outting' themselves and they'd have to taken out of the military...hope that makes sense...but I'm glad that DADT has been taken out; oh and just for the hell of it...I'm a heterosxual female who was born and raised a Catholic and I'm all for gay rights and gay marraige! :) So awesome to type that!
Its amazing to see DADT repealed and its a credit to the US that this has happened. Now when LGBT soldiers are committed to active service, they will be fighting for the same rights and freedoms as their straight counterparts. If anything degrades an active unit's capability then surely its the knowledge that you are considdered less of a person because of who you love, thankfully this is no longer the case and this guy is to be commended along with all other active service men and women.

This is one cool guy, i'm in the navy and I respect this guy for living his own life and not worrying about what other people think. Sounds like his family are more supportive than some though.
I remember being a kid living in base housing when the Don't Ask / Tell policy began and all the uproar and negativity about having gays in the military at all. The buzz eventually died out and people went about their business. It will be tough for a while now, but eventually people will get over it and go about their daily lives. I think in the 90's, it was the only option, but now I'd like to think we are more open minded. Keep fighting for freedom on your home turf!

@84almond If I'm thinking of the right timeline, the video was made before DADT was abolished (yay!) so until then, soldiers weren't allowed to show thier faces, otherwise they'd be 'outting' themselves and they'd have to taken out of the military...hope that makes sense...but I'm glad that DADT has been taken out; oh and just for the hell of it...I'm a heterosxual female who was born and raised a Catholic and I'm all for gay rights and gay marraige! :) So awesome to type that!

Its amazing to see DADT repealed and its a credit to the US that this has happened. Now when LGBT soldiers are committed to active service, they will be fighting for the same rights and freedoms as their straight counterparts. If anything degrades an active unit's capability then surely its the knowledge that you are considdered less of a person because of who you love, thankfully this is no longer the case and this guy is to be commended along with all other active service men and women.

No matter how I or others feel about the current wars, the young people sent by old men to wage them didn't start them. My dad is in the air force and always wanted me to join, but i was always afraid to. i'm just through with depending on my parents for everything in life and i want to be independent for once. Many words and phrases have been changed to accomodate he Protestant religion. Protestanism like Judaism today are manmade constructs and thus are not salvific. I remember being a kid living in base housing when the Don't Ask / Tell policy began and all the uproar and negativity about having gays in the military at all. The buzz eventually died out and people went about their business. It will be tough for a while now, but eventually people will get over it and go about their daily lives. I think in the 90's, it was the only option, but now I'd like to think we are more open minded. Keep fighting for freedom on your home turf!
