I'm now facing the impossible challenge of learning it in only 4-5 weeks for a concert which will take place here in Brussels in a couple of weeks... you'll see the result when I post it in my channel, probably some time in late November or early December
@mindwa That's insane. I thought I always learned music fairly quickly, but learning works like that in that short a time period is crazy. I mean I hear stories of pianists doing it, but I only half believe them thinking it's got to be mostly hype! I know Clara Haskill could learn incredibly fast-one of the fastest learners supposedly. Would like to know how you do that!!
@mindwa I have spoken to some people who have played the Rach cello sonata and they have said that they learned it in like 3 months!! That's unbelievable! I learn fast, but to get all of the notes AND technique learned and up to a concert level in 3 months is ridiculous!! BTW, the 1st Piano Concerto is harder than it looks. Very difficult piece too!!
Maar serieus, leuk idee omhet op youtube te zetten, en wat een prachtige dondkere toon heb je! Wat voor cijfer werd het? Een paar oneffenheden in het begin, maar voor de rest een uitvoering op hoog niveau...

I really liked your version, it's one of the best I've heard. And it's a live performance, too! The recording was top notch.

This was an incredible performance of what is a horrendously difficult piece. This is truly a concert for piano and cello!

Bravo, Karel! A beautifully emotional interpretation! Excellent chemistry between you and the pianist. A remarkable collaboration!

That is fantastic! I have a cd with Gautier Capucon and Lilya Zilberstein, but can not hear any difference.
You play fantastically!!
