The flooring is extremely bad for the rabbit. It can damage and rip off the fur off it's feet and cause severe infection. Also, as everyone already mention, the cage definitely needs to be bigger.

It's not that big of a deal. You were likely holding food or something to motivate the rabbit. My rabbit does it as well. His cage is on the same level as our dinner table, so he just pushes his door down, eats some cinnamon bun, and then goes back in his cage. If only he could close it... Why is it a mystery??? Anyone who has been brought up around animals knows that they are extremely intelligent... more than we realize. We are learning about this more and more as time goes on. That's why I get depressed every day when I think of the way humans think they're so high up on the food chain that they abuse animals, neglect them and even hunt them for their fur and for FUN.
