Americans don't make cars like this (at least not regularly) because any of our craftsmen that could do this kind of work want to much money for it. Maybe Cadillac will make a very high end bespke model to compete with the likes of RR and Bentley, but that probably will not happen with GM in the fix it's in now. And it would probably only be a one time deal. And the VW influence is starting to wear off of Bentley. I believe this one has its own platform, not a shared. I could be mistaken.

Actually it was the other way around. Jaguar developed those V8's themselves and Ford later used them for some Ford cars. Yamaha developed the V8 for the Volvo XC90(Volvo was still owned by Ford back then) and several of the Ford SHO engines were developed by Yamaha.

Those engines are called Jaguar AJ-V8 engines. Look it up! Google or Wikipedia.
