  • Heil dem diezel

  • @MetallicAAAAAAAAHHHH Also wirklich!

  • If you could buy any half stack out there, for blues/rock - hard rock sound, out of the following which would you suggest; Diezel, Soldano, Marshall, Mesa/Boogie, Bogner.

  • To be honest, the really HUGE names all have custom built amps like Brunos, Two Rocks, Cornfords, Wizards, Soldanos etc., all tweaked to their specific tastes. Those walls of Marshall or Fender or even MesaBoogie logos on stage are just for endorsement show off reasons

  • Um, what? Boogie makes great amps.

  • I never said that Boogie are bad amps, getting a factory tour anyone will see all about their quality. I'm just talking about what famous guitarists use, they use amps modified to their exact taste so no amp available to the public is identical to their equipment, that's why seeing a stack during a performance doesnt mean that they use the same equipment for recording and stuff like that. I.e. Santriani made a signature amp the JSX but uses soldanos and cornfords all customized to record.

  • Bullshit

  • ????

  • The real cream of the crop Guitar players are people like John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Buckethead. Which Paul Gilbert is the only one of those using a Marshall Amp. JP and BH use Boogies and Steve Vai has his own Carvin line of amps. Besides, 2 of the biggest Metal Bands right now, Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God both use Boogies. Everyone has different play styles, if the Gibson Fender direction works for you, more power to you. Just thought I'd voice my opinion.

  • Actually KSE recently switched to Splawn amps.

  • Personally, my Dual Rectifier works better for ME, everyone attacks the strings different so if a Fender Amp works better for you, more power to you. All I have to say though is that Eric Clapton and Beck are not the cream of the crop and they simply use the equipment that they use now because there wasn't a whole lot of options back in their time(That and their stuck in the past, only old people and Guitarists listen to that music, not debating the talent just debating the time they are in).

  • um it's called an opinion you u're jus bein an immature jerk it's not bout who is the best jus listen to the music and enjoy different guitarist have different things that make them great

  • People like camelclass think that the only guitars worth playing are fenders and gibsons, and the only amps worth playing are marshalls and fenders.

Others that follow this mold forget that better amps and guitars exist now.

But of course if you pointed out a band like tool or killswitch engage to them they'd state: "thats not music"

As if the only music worth listening to comes from gibsons with marshalls.

Good job demeaning music as a progressive ideology.

    Two thumbs up :3

  • well there's this band called muse, you may not have heard of them, because theyve only sold a few million records, but they like to use diezel amps.

oh, and the vox ac30 is a pretty popular amp too. but uh go ahead and call brian may and tell him hes an idiot for not using a marshall or fender like everyone else.

  • Muse use Diesel.

    Muse use Manson.

Both makes are not exactly the most mainstream manufacturers, however it is undeniable, whether or not you like Muse that they are incredibly successful, and also have a very nice tone.

  • hahaha oops you beat me to it!

They also use Manson guitars, and it's fair to say they have a great, distinctive tone.

Slash uses a LP through a Marshall amp, yet he still has a really nice tone which is pretty recognisable.

Goes to show that it doesn't matter what equipment you use you can still achieve great tones! (well as long as the equipment is good)

  • Michael Romeo uses an Engl Powerball in the studio and a Line6 live. Guthrie Govan uses Cornford. Metallica use Diezels, Vai uses Carvin, Dimebag designed an amp with Krank and prior to that uses Roland Solid state rackmount amp heads. Josh Homme used a bass amplifier into a guitar cab with a distortion box for the Kyuss Albums.

All have great tone, none of them use marshall or fender. Don't claim that they DO use M or F because theres plenty of evidence otherwise all over the net. END OF.

  • I was talking about players who made it. Romeo and Govan are nobodies. Satriani definitely used Marshalls and if he's now using Peavys, then because they're paying him to do so. Attend a gig once in a while, you'll see what the working pros use. Sure, they may use a Bogner or a Soldano in the studio for a few tracks but the real greats, Clapton, Beck, Page etc. etc. etc. all use Marshall, Fender and Boogies.Which makes sense because all these overpriced boutique amps just try to sound like them.

  • THey're both making a living from being musicians, living the dream. What are you doing? Arguing a point, on which you are WRONG, to a bunch of other nobodies on the internet. And What about metallica? They've been using Diezels for a while and Hammet has a signature amp from (I think) Laney now.

As for 'getting paid' ot use a product, if that were the case they'd just slap a logoplate on a normal model and make some insignificant change like an extra knob. They wouldn't design a whole new amp!

  • You're too naive, uninformed and stubborn to waste any more time on. Enjoy your Diezel amp, I'm sure it's great for a style of playing I have no interest and no respect for. widdely widdely widdely. And next time you see a show, big or small, take a look at the backline and you'll see Marshalls and Fenders all over the place.

  • Actually, no, I won't. Last time I saw a gig was the mars volta, and Cedric had a big ol ORANGE stack behind him. As for 'my' Diezel...I don't own one. My Amp is a Vox.

Now please stop being a stubborn ass and jsut accept that a lot of players use a lot of different amps, these days especially. Bogner, Engl, H+K, Orange, Cornford, Line6, Mesa, Splawn, ETC. All have different tone, none are Fender or Marshall.

  • Hell, by your logic, Fender and Gibson guitars are the only ones worth playing just because they're the two biggest and oldest companies. Your logic is just plain retarded.

  • Dude, youre too stubborn. I've played pretty much every marshall out there, and with the exception of a (modded)JCM 800, they are all, well, weak. As for Fender, they make great guitars, but their amps suck, except the twin reverbs. Gibson is over priced average guitars, and they don't give a shit about any customer who isn't famous. Mesa is fucking awesome though! Instead of whining about how much diezels "suck" why don't you go actually play one? They sound really good.

  • I never said that Diezel amps suck. But the fact remains that the cream of the crop of today's players, and I don't mean those nu-metal shredders, mostly use Marshall and Fenders for their live shows. Jeff Beck, who is the best living guitarist today, e.g. uses a Marshall. Saying that all Fender amps suck, is quite a statement, I assume you like your amp to sound like it had a fizzy fuzz box built in and don't like fat, natural tube distortion, then I can understand why you don't like Fenders.

  • I do like natural tube overdrive, but i happen to like having an amp that supplies alot of it, like my carvin v3, not a fender which has virtually no gain.fender is decent, but diezel(and randall, and mesa, and carvin) blows fender out of the water. And people like beck don't just use marshall. he uses whatever he wants, and im pretty sure its not all marshall and fender. so if you want to be a damn purist, then go talk with someone who shares your opinion.

  • and both marshall and fender are really overpriced. If you want dirty, grity tones like clapton, marshall is great. but if you want anything else, marshall fails. If you want great cleans or the slighty overdriven sound of robby krieger, then fender is great. and you have to pay over $2000-$4000 for one sound. OR you buy a carvin V3 for $1200, and you have virtually any sound you could ever need. And Carvin isn't canadian either. its pure a american tube amp.

  • Agreed. Romeo is a guitar God. I hate dudes like that who have their heads so far up Fender's asses, they don't realize the the most annoying and uninspired d-bag in the world is the washed up 50+ yr old dude who spends all his time sitting in the corner of Sam Ash Music playing his crappy Fender through his crappier Fender amp playing his crappy blues, while talking down about players like Petrucci or Romeo who are actual, working, unimaginably talented players. GAH!!

  • their marshalls are back from the 70's lmao.

  • And to expand on this a little more: The tone on the early VH albums is the subject of much debate. NOBODY knows what he really used, and he admits that he put about a lot of misinformation in interviews to stop people cloning his sound. Satriani uses a singature Peavey JSX. The other players are using those amps because they grew up with them and got their signature tones with them way back when. Nothing to do with them being vastly better or worse.

  • Haha Peter DIezel omg he lives in my town^^

  • too much nicorette gum

  • whats the riff that plays at 0.28?? Van Halen?

  • good question... lol 3 months ago

  • so does a vh4 kick the road kings ass?

i cant decide between them? i am gonne buy one though!!!!

    BUT WHICH ONE? ANY ADVICE?

  • you cant go wrong with the einstein , i love and i do very brutal metal stuff with it

  • They are to different to really compare.

  • if you need a more heavy sound without having to use any boosts get the vh4 . If you need more crunchy sounds get the roadking.

  • I just checked out an Diezel amp yesterday, they are the greatest amps. the sound and everything is fucking awesome. expensive that one i tried though, costs 5000 $.

  • I dont like the sound of diezel's. They just sound like there is a blanket over your amp.

  • then you have never played one, just heard on tube?

  • No, Ive played one. Believe me, Im not going to make a judgement by listening on here (Though you can get an idea, because this guy tries out numerous amps with the same guitar, but we dont know what settings hes using). Im still in the market for an amp. I currently play a peavey xxx. The best Ive heard so far is the Rivera Fandango. I like my distortion to be well defined and punchy (the best I can describe it).

  • Just want to say that Diezels are still a great amp. Its just not the sound I prefer.

  • those bbe sonic maximizers can put some high end sizzle on anything...in the case of the "blanket over the amp" sound, it might help.

  • Is it just me or should a $5000 amp have delicious tone without a sonic maximizer or need for a boost? I agree it can help though...

  • j'suis assez d'accord. Genre "pffff...t'es pas le premier, vous me faites chier les shredders à vous astiquer. Fais 10 fois le tour du paté de maison en courant, reviens avec du feeling et on en reparle."

  • Peter Diezel a bien l'air de s'emmerder.

  • cool!
