I used a full rool of 6mil poly.

8' x 100'

I then stapled the lead edge to a 1" x3/4" pine furring strip. I roll the strip a few times into the plastic so the staple would not tear out. The final step is to use landscape spike through the wood to keep the lead edge anchored.

This is a large roll of plastic used as a vapor barrier in home construction. You can find this at any home depot and building supply store.
