  • very nice to listen to it:D im gonna buy a loop also once its great:D greeting fom the netherlands:)

  • @danieltubed It's a lot of fun to use a looper - our favorite is one we uploaded about 5 or 6 months ago called "Let's Stay Together" where I use the looper as a "drum" by hitting on the guitar. Thanks for listening; we have a great friend in the Netherlands who we keep in close contact with - his name is Rob. Nice to know somebody else from there (we lived there for about a year back in the late 90s). Jim

  • @AzBboy Thanks for checking out my video. Jim

  • Ritchie lived a few miles up the road.. I enjoyed his music then , thanks for bringing

    it back.

    Cool,Guitar, nicely played

  • @bohemian46 Ritchie didn't stay with us long enough. Thanks for your comments. Love it. Jim

  • I very much enjoyed this Jim, thanks for the pleasure of listening.

    Cuong

  • @SeijouAi Thanks Cuong for the nice comment. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Holiday. Jim

  • One of my favorites, you played it very well, Thank you.

    Nick

  • @1moreguitarplayer Thanks Nick. I liked the way Ritchie Valens sang it with the nice harmonies in the background.

  • That's quite a hefty Hofner, Jim! I bet it weighs much more than

most guitars. It's much thicker! Reminds me of a Gretsch. Nice

coloring. Like your friend Rob, I don't really know this tune even

though I know and enjoy 50s music! Nice to live and learn.

    Happy T'giving! ~Terry

  • @BocaFriend Actually the guitar weighs much less than it looks. The wood is very thin, and being hollow, it weighs less than some smaller solid body guitars. I'm surprised than you (or anybody) doesn't recognize one of Ritchie Valens biggest hit, Oh Donna (he also did the original La Bomba). They even made a movie about Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holley, and the Big Bopper. Ritchie (just a kid, 18 or 19 years old) and Buddy died in an airplane crash on the way to a job in a big snow storm.

  • Yes, I know, with Lou Diamond Phillips playing

Valens. I have only known (and loved) La Bamba.

But now see it was the B-side to DONNA. And

where the iconic La Bamba only reached #22

on the Charts, 'DONNA' reached Billboard's #2!

A tragic coin toss put him on the plane. ~Terry

  • nice tune Jim

  • @SIRONEDRAGON Thanks for checking it out. I always liked some of these old tunes.

  • Sounds just great Jim. Loved it. Reminds me of hearing in the movie "Back To the Future". I love that song. thank you for playing it, now I get to work on sing it for you. Thank you so much. Have a good Thanksgiving my friend.

  • @Elvis66 Thanks for the nice comments. I'll look forward to your rendition of this great song from the 60s. Have a nice Thanksgiving.

  • Hi Jim,

You toke a stroll on your Hofner and did a loop ti loop version of Donna. I did like the guitar, but the song i am not familiar with. I will send you a picture of my Hofner right after this comment.

    Greetingzzz

    Rob

  • @rnrhc10 I'm very surprised you're not familiar with this very well known song here in the US. Listen to Ritchie Valens sing Donna on youtube and I'll bet you'll recognize the song. I saw the pictures of your Hofner and I love it.
